Which Duncan black glaze will you recommend to go with this OG801 so that both can be fired successfully together?

Black Duncan Glazes like IN1613-4 are fired to cone 06, the gold luster is fired to Cone 018, Lusters are a third firing after greenware and glaze.

Is it possible to use this on top of enamel pieces?

I'm no expert but I don't see why not. I would test it on something else first. It fires to a really low temp so shouldn't hurt most metals, is my guess. (Now don't go ruin it and blame me!)

can this be used directly on the rim of unglazed porcelain or white stoneware pieces?

If you use this on unglazed sections, it will take on the texture of the clay, every tiny particle. This makes it less reflective and kind of matte because it is does not go on thick enough to melt into a smooth form.

How durable is this on a functional piece of pottery?

It find the luster to be very durable! But I do tell people who buy my work to handwash these functional pieces because then the ware will be better

I love this stuff! This is the best deal I can find and I go through at least one of these a month with my ceramics. You won't find a better deal on gold luster than this, and if you figure out how to use it right, it is gorgeous and amazing. I fire it to 1300 degrees Fahrenheit and it seems to be the perfect temperature. Also, right when you open the bottle, don't thin it out, but if it dries out a little over time, lavender essential oil works great as a thinner. Also, I clean my brushes with lavender essential oil and it does the job just as well as solvent chemicals would and it smells a lot better. This stuff gives me the Midas touch!

I used this product to reglaze some Old Country Rose pattern bone chine cups that the gold had worn off of, worked perfect, looked like new!. great results. I liked the ease of application and and beautiful results. You cant's contanminate your brush with oil from china painting, I did this on a bowl and it changed the gold, do as the manufacture suggest, get the cleaner and use clean brushes. you will love your results.
