Great little contraption to securely lift dutch oven lids. Being able to firmly grip the lid allows one to shake off all the spent coals and start with a clean lid with freshly fired coals. Having the bail lifting hook on the front leg is a convenient feature for an all in one tool. I use to lift the lid plus a Lodge 4-in-1 to rest the lid when cooking. Lifting the from the bail on heavily loaded ovens does tend to be more natural with the 4-in-1 but this certainly does the job.

Works well for our big Cajun dutch oven. Very sturdy.

I liked the size and control of the lifter. it is durable , I used it for cooking cobblers and chicken enchiladas for a group of 30 people .

This is my goto lid lifter for my camp dutch ovens. Easy to use and allows you to maintain good control of the lid. You will have a secure grasp. This also lifts the pot by the bail. The yellow handles makes it highly visible and easy to spot when you need to find it. Don't bother with the cheap lifters. Get the right one from the start. Heavy duty and built to last. Highly recommended.

Handier than I expected, not too pricey, solid and works great.

My plain old traditional lid lifter is pissed. It has served me on quite a few campouts but has recently been upstaged by this Lodge Deluxe lid lifter. At this week's campfire cooking event this new deluxe lid lifter frequently went "missing" as it was happily used by others who pitched their plain lid lifters off into the grass in favor of mine. I'm pretty sure the old lid lifters conspired to retaliate because they tripped us up constantly as they seemed to be everywhere we stepped and their all-black bodies were impossible to spot in the dark. The bright yellow handles on this deluxe lid lifter made it easy to locate in the flickering firelight, especially with it's long, leggy shape that free-stands on its own. At the end of the night the deluxe model held on firmly as I swung my dutch oven lid completely upside down to return the coals on top of it to the fire, obviously sparking jealousy from the older lid lifters who previously had so much fun dropping the lid on my toe when I attempted such a move. Those cantankerous old lid lifters have all been demoted to fire log pokes and marshmallow roasters. Break up with your old lid lifter and upgrade to a real tool who knows how to treat you right!

Love this. Picks up hot lid, and is very stable. Build quality (welds) is a little rough. Doesn't anyone care what their products look like any more?
