Old El Paso Refried Beans, 435g

For some people, it's mashed potatoes, but for me, refried beans have always been my comfort food. I think that El Paso was the first brand to stop using lard in the recipe more than 30 years ago--showing you just how long I've been a consumer of this product. I suppose other brands are just as good, but why would I bother to try them when I can easily buy them in bulk here? The same goes for buying the can vs. making my own. I can refry them once again or warm them in the microwvave I can open the can and if I don't eat the whole thing right away, which I usually don't, they last for days in the fridge.

This is what refried beans taste like in Tex-Mex cooking. It is not bastardised for British taste like some of the other products in the Old El Paso line. Well worth using in your tacos or enchiladas (if you can find a decent corn tortilla in this country!).

Good quality refried beans for Mexican dishes. Our family likes the fact that they are basic beans that you can add your own flavors to...some canned refried beans add oils and flavors that detract from your recipe's taste. Will buy again.

Tasty, and very good for you (fibre), but the side effects are rather windy! Enjoy a taste of Mexico-inspired beans.

LOVE these. heated up with salt and pepper and grate some cheese to melt on top, the best kind of dip.

No flavour, no heat, hence not Mexican. Other brands are far superior.

What can I say, they are good refried beans. They are basic, but add a dash of dried chilies for a good hit of heat.
