Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 5.0

When my mother gave me a lexmark printer it included a standard Scrapbook Factory disc with it. It wasliterally years before I even loaded it on my computer and used it. I did so to make a quick scrapbookphoto to stick in a frame. Well, I was hooked!The only annoyance to me was that there simply wasn't MORE! I finally searched on amazon and found abrand new DELUXE version FIVE! WOW!!!! Sign me up! I was fortunate enough to get my deluxe versionfor only twenty bucks! I couldn't wait for it to be handed to me (since amazon had such FAB shippingservice as well!) to rip open the package and delve into scrapbook ecstasy. Needless to say, I was NOTdisappointed! Oh my goodness! Me oh my!!! The things I could make, Sam-I-am!!! heheThe box included the start up/load program, a registration slip (which you can mail in or register onlinewhich is totally nice), and a DETAILED instruction booklet, well BOOK more like it!I tossed the instruction book back in the box and clicked on the scrapbook factory icon and delved in.OOoooOO!! It was pure scrapbook HEAVEN! There were many things still there from the standard disc Ihad from my nearly 10 yr old disc, and soo many more things!!! You just can't imagine. AND AND!! Therewas even a SECOND disc with even MORE images and fonts! Now tell me, who does NOT love fonts??? Imean I can't resist them! heheIn brief, I have not yet found a thing I DON'T love. If I DON'T know how to do something (since thishas soo much more then the puny standard disc I had), then I flip open that manuel and BOOM baby,there it tells me just how to go about and do something! I mean, HELLO?!?! I take a photo, save it to thecomputer, and I go searching for that perfect pre-loaded theme page, or I simply create my own, or evena little of both. Take a pre-made theme page and subtract & add as I like. Making it completely unique!Just like the photo I want to preserve and save!So, since a photo is worth a thousand PLUS words, let the montage start!

I loved Scrapbook 4.0 and when I upgraded my Windows program, 4.0 became incompatible with my pc, so I switched to 5.0. Soon I began to have an issue with saving my photos on the page. the text and background were saved, but my images had diagonal hatch stripes of bright magenta and harsh green! In order to speak to anyone from support, I had to prepay $9.99 for tech support. After proving to tech support that my photos changed to diagonal bars after I saved them, they indicated they were aware of this issue from other customers and that had been able to resolve the problem. No offer to refund money was given, and I was insulted that I WAS still charged for the tech support code! Now I see 5.0 is still being marketed on their site, but in order to find out whether the issue had been resolved I would have to purchase another $9.99 code in order to ask tech support about this issue. I loved the 4.0 version so much and had learned how to manipulate it fluently, so I am once again tempted to take a chance and see if it has been repaired. But that would be really asking for frustration. DON'T FALL FOR THE TRAP.

It is not as "customizable" as they claim it is. There are a variety of colors for each embelishment and border, but you can't change the color yourself. The writing is just for short photo captions rather than lengthy explanations. You have to insert hard returns because the text doesn't automatically wrap. The user's guide is extensive - it needs to be because the program is not very intuitive. The colorful box is appealing and makes the program look very user-friendly. I am very disappointed with the program. I can do more with Microsoft Word's drawing tools.

I think this new addition is great and very easy to use and browse. It makes scrapbooking so much easier and fun.

I love this product. It's like having an entire studio at my finger tips. When I first opened it and saw the instruction manual I thought it to be a little intimidating, but it offers tutoring with each step to get started. If I can do it anyone can. There are so many graphics the possibilities are endless. I'll be using this product for years to come. Not only have I created some awesome scrapbook pages but never again will I have to buy another greeting card.

I have never done a review but this software was so bad I had to do one. We are working on a profile for adoption and this scrap booking software came highly recommended. Its a shame because this software could be good but it locks up, corrupts files and above all else ruins hours of workwhen you least expect it. Above all else, their support sucks. They charge you to answer QUESTIONS about their own software. Not sure who they think they are. I will never buy from them again and recommend to not even try the software. If you are going to use the 4.0 version. We had to buy that pos to get what needed to be done but that froze as well when saving and is nerve racking because as it tries to save it become unresponsive and you wonder is this the time it ruins all my hours of work. DO NOT BUY THIS !
