Very happy with the 2 gallon can. Many reviews stated their gas cans arrived dented. Mine came in perfect shape. The “rust” on the screen flame arrester mentioned in many reviews is not rust. The screen is a darker color in places due to brazing it together. A good tight seal on the spout helps quell that awful feeling of driving home from the gas station with a full can of gas inside your vehicle.

This is a real gas can. I have the plastic ones with the special spouts that don't work or require two hands just to pour from them. The plastic ones dry crack in the summer heat, they tip over easy, especially when being transported for a fill up. You have to fight with the plastic spouts to get them on and off. This can can't be beat, it won't tip over, seals tightly and is super easy to open and close. I use a fuel transfer pump to gas up my equipment and the lid on this one holds the transfer pump shaft for me so I only need one hand to fuel equipment. I will be replacing all the over priced plastic junk with these.

We live in rural Hawaii on a small coffee farm. Buying gas at Costco saves us about 90 cents per gallon, so we try to store a reasonable amount of gasoline here for emergencies and for all the small equipment engines we run. I wanted to buy two new metal cans to replace some plastic ones which were leaking. This was the first of these I bought, but it will not be last. It is made well of durable material. Nothing complicated, just pull the handle and pour. They do not leak and they do not seem to vent much or at all. The seal seems to be cork, so once that gets wetted, it seals reliably and well. At first I thought they were not 5 gallon, as they are taller and thinner than others I own, but sure enough, they hold 5 gallons.

These are pretty awesome. They arrived undamaged. I was a little bit nervous ordering them with the negative reviews saying they were received dented. They’re easy to fill. I don’t think there’s any way they would leak if they’re transported in the upright position. I actually put these in the trunk of my car between the cargo net and the trunk and had no issues. The only complaint I have is the opening and the cap have a little bit of a burr on them. I’ll definitely grab some more when I can. It’s nice having American made products like these.

I bought two of these for my emergency generator. I love that they are super sturdy, leakproof, and safe. I solved the no-locking gas cap issue by using a bungee cord. Difficult to pour, but solved this with a battery powered fuel transfer pump (available on Amazon.) To use the fuel transfer pump, remove the screens. Easy to do.

Purchased this 5 gallon can to store gas for a generator acquired after the February 2021 three day sub zero winter power outage. Filled it with a bit less than 5 gallons --to allow for expansion -- along with fuel stabilizer. To date (July 2021) it shows no leakage or rust. The spring force metal cap remains very tight. The plastic funnel that came with it will be handy in pouring the fuel from the larger can to a smaller container suitable for measured filling the generator. Since the this can was bought to store gas in my garage that sometimes approaches 100F, it has proven to be safe with no detectable vapor leak via smell test. That proven, I bought another. To ease pouring, I might have considered getting the can with the metal built in spout and pay a bit extra but found the funnel good enough. Despite its efficacy to store in my garage, as another layer of safety, I'm looking for a remote monitoring gasoline vapor detector while avoiding any spark in or near the ground.

I bought 12 of these and the locking safety cabinets to store them in away from my garage. I read another review that said they don't have a seal. Well they do! The lid has a layer of cork that creates the vapor seal. Great product. Used them at a government facility 40 years ago. They are as safe now as they were then. Waiting for Armageddon.......... Although, I recently heard that Vodka is better than gasoline. Much easier to barter with Vodka. I am guessing that Jack Daniels would be just as good.

I will never buy plastic again! Superior storage and handling for gasoline. Worth the little extra expense.
