This is a nice quality 30A RV surge protector. The plug and cord appear well made. The body of the unit is solid and appears well sealed (I did not subject it to water spray). The specs are in line with others of this price range. Unlike some others it doesn't seem to have a low/high voltage automatic cutoff. The voltage meter indicates the line voltage so you know before connecting if the voltage is out of line. It also indicates common power faults with the power pedestal. The unit has a clear cover with a enough relief depth to allow it to cover the RV power plug in order to protect against rain in the socket. The hinge is a bit light weight so be careful with it and don't over stress it. I don't have the capability to simulate the electrical faults, but I see no reason so far to doubt its operation. Overall, a nice addition to your RV.

I didn't think I would have the opportunity to use this until next spring, however I got a call and had to move my trailer to a different spot at my buddies property. I ran over and the trailer batteries were dead so I unloaded the generator and grabbed this guy. Fire it up and plug everything in and I notice the voltage is down and dropping when my buddy hits the jack switch. Then as I tell him to let it go, it jumps and I get an error 2 message on the screen. Immediately I pull it and test the generator and sure enough it's failing! This thing has been used only once but has already saved me from a possibly very costly issue!
