MDTOryx Bipod - M-LOK or Sling Stud Compatible

Bought this a few days before leaving for hunting. The color is great and looks nice mounted. It's very light weight and quick to put on/take off/extend legs. When your hands are cold and have less mobility/dexterity it is still quick & easy to use. I'm quite happy so far.

These bipods are fine if you want to pre-load and lean into your rifle. If you're bench resting a 22lr and don't need to lean into your shot, then these don't work well. There is way too much slop forward and back. At 100 yards, if you lean into the shot, your point of aim will drop 2 feet. If you don't lean into it, the shots hit high because of the backward slop. I just could not be consistent with this bipod the way I shoot. Might be fine for centerfire but not for 22lr in my opinion. The Harris bipods really work better. The spring-loaded legs, in the Harris, are very firm and allow you to keep the gun steady without having to lean into it.I will say the MDT looks nice and are well-made. Just not a good option for the way I shoot.

I installed this on an MDT sling chassis 300 WinMag - it works as designed. Once tightened, it stays in place without it getting loose again after a few shots. The locking lever for the rifle angle is the only thing that I would somehow redesign - it's not overly terrible, but to unlock it feels pretty tight and to lock it it also very tight as well (as expected, but it really needs cranked down so it doesn't angle from side-to-side). I tried playing around with it but it seems that's just how it is. Other than that, it works great!It's a very nice bipod and I try to stay with MDT as much as I can because their products are usually really, really nice which is why they cost a bit more; however, this feels like it should be a $60-$75 bipod, not $100.

Sturdy, great fit for my Ruger all American predator with a fast release mount. This does add a decent heft to your rifle, but if you're shooting ranged its a requirement and it pretty easily detaches depending on your mount. The springs are hearty but not ridiculous. The legs extend smoothly and easily.

Great quality, great for hunting

This is bipod design 101 guys! The $15 el cheapo bipods even know that sling stud mounting bipods need to have a replacement stud for sling mounting. MDT engineers must be out of touch and assume they're only building products for people with chassis or high end stocks that have a bunch of M-lok or Arca slots in addition to a sling stud. This is a very nice budget tier bipod, but it is still targeted at the budget end of the market and many of the rifles that people will want to put these on, ESPECIALLY THE SLING STUD MOUNT VERSION, will only have that single point of attachment on their rifle. MDT really needs to fix this mistake.

This thing is tough, lightweight and sturdy. Easy install and removal. I was going to buy 3 more but it’s so easy to swap between rifles, I only need one.
