We don't see any expiration date on the individual box. Only we can see the fill date 9/24/2012 on the outside big case box.

Does this color "33 Dark Soft Brown" work well for gray hair cover?

I'm the daughter of a licensed hair specialist who often colored her hair to cover the gray. It'll cover it, sure, but because gray hair has a hard time gripping onto any color for long periods of time, it'll start to fade within a few weeks-- and that's any color, love. Not just this product. The best way to open up the shafts in the hairs that are gray is to bleach them, and then put color in it a few days later after a few washes.

Does this hair color gradually wash out of all hair or is there a visible root line? I read that this is not truly a permanent dye. Thank you

It's not a permanent dye. The color changes after a while but it doesn't totally go out. But as the hair grows u will need to repeat it. Try doing it every other month. I feel my hair doesn't get from this hair color and it stays strong

Will the color ultra ash blonde lighten a dark.blonde shade to a lighter blonde? revlon

Yes it will. I use the ash blonde because it doesn’t give me the red effect and just the lighter blonde. Been using this color and brand for years. Good choice
