11ft Carbon Carp Float Match Fishing Rod. Hunter Pro Inc. Cloth Bag

Baring in mind the price of this rod, I bought it as a replacement for the recently purchased Drennan red range version that like all Drennan rods I’ve ever bought, broke in the hold-all.Anyway, I rigged it up for catching Tench in a very weedy water, that needs a bit more grunt to get a heavy float rig and a giant prawn out 20 yards or so. I had 10lb Berkley Whiplash braid as mainline, and 6lb flurocarbon hooklink. The cast and controlling the rig ready to cast was smooth and simple, and when eventually I hooked two 4lb Tench, I needed to bully them a bit, the rod coped amicably. A nice smooth bend with a bit more power than a normal match rod, I had total confidence in the rod and pleased with its performance.It is a little heavier than the Drennan that was twice the price, but it wasn’t even a consideration on the bank.The reel seat held the reel firmly as expected, it has lined rings so very smooth.Is it value for money.YES. Absolutely no problem, if I get a season or 2 out of it, I will be more than happy with it.

More of a Match rod, and action not as through as I would have liked for the Carp Lake. But great price and nice and light. Our carp lake is quite young so will be great when I am floating the margins. Does cast well. Personally I can't believe the prices for carbon rods these days. As a three piece is easy to transport but this always sacrifices the through action. Cant really fault this rod.

This rod is great value for money. Overall quality is very high, the rings are good quality and well applied. I particularly like the reel clamp, there is a groove running the centre of the clamp, this stops the reel from slipping round the handle. It also has a screw lock on the clamp so that the reel is very secure. Comes with a rood bag, 3 piece so it breaks down to a really manageable size, ideal for traveling light. definitely recommend. *****

Took this rod tench fishing and it held up beautifully. Even when casting a heavy bait feeder far out. However the action isn't as smooth as I'd like. Any weight below 4 bb plus bait and float just won't cast and when you wind the reel backwards you expect the float to lower. Instead it doesn't and all the line gets tangled. Always manually lengthen your casting line and you'll be fine. Especially for 20 quid.

Nice rod and value for money however i had an 8lb carp on it and its definitely not a carp rod lol i would say a roach rudd and breem rod but definitely not carp its far to soft action i’m shocked it didn’t snap i had to have a slack drag to protect the rod 😂
