I originally bought these ceramic heat emitters for my baby chicks as a safer alternative to a heat lamp. I have them in 3 different wattages, and used them in a ceramic clamp on fixture. Since they don't draw wattage like a space heater I'm currently using them as a safe heat source to keep pipes from freezing in my rarely used guest cabin, well house, and as a heat source for the citrus trees in my greenhouse. In the past I used regular light bulbs under a clay pot, so I already had the set up for heaters. They've been perfect for my needs.

I have two of these in my chicken coop which is about 8 x 6. It keeps the coop warm in cold weather. It does not emit any light so it does not disrupt your laying hens with extra light.

I have these on a trouble lamp for my daughter's dog.They invariably overheat. So unscrew it and check that the connections aren't going bad..

Gives an ok amount of heat.. good buy for the money. Cons of this is you can’t adjust the heat. I’m using them in my goat house( my goats think they’re dogs)since it’s pretty much enclosed it puts out a little warmth…

Has worked well to keep chickens warm all winter. No malfunction

Temperature wise was okay as I used it for my brooder. It didn’t last it’s second winter season, it burnt out this summer as I was raising my second batch of baby chicks. This was really good if it only lasted longer.

Petsmart wanted $34.00 for one or these. These are fabulous and last a very long time. I’ve had my current one on 24hrs a day for 9 months.

I modified a metal tool box to accept a ceramic light socket. I am using the heat bulbs and modified tool box as a welding rod oven. Works great keeps the rods dry and serviceable and did not cost me the $1,500.00 or more for a conventional welding rod oven.
