The band is an old designed used for decades. Yes there might be risk if band snagged on something because it is likely stronger than cheaper plastic strap band.The life of this watch design, based on my experience, will be strongly influenced by the corrosion of buttons used to adjust it, not the battery.

All you need is the time, the date, the alarms, n a light. Its classic, round, thin n easy to work with, as far as fitting ur hand into tight spaces; like a plumber or mechanic.

I had a similar looking casio for 10 years until I lost it recently. This feels like paper now. Nearly everything is plastic - save for the band and the back actually being stainless steel - and even then the metal it is much thinner than before. Flimsy.
