Speedheat 500 Under Rug Space Heater (7' 9" x 5' 3")

Keeps the floor warm under a rug and helps with warming up a room. I prefer it turning on the central heat since it does not dry out the air as much and heat rises. I have kept it on for hours and I think the temperature is perfect. No temperature settings. I plugged it into a Smart plug so that I can turn it on/off easily. My dogs love it too and I find myself sitting on the rug instead of the sofa.

Great addition to cold family room. Put it under the rug and room is remarkably cozy. Not too warm, just enough to help knock the chill off in the winter/cool spring.

The RugBuddy has been great for our family! It warms the floor which makes a body feel more comfortable, I compare it to the difference between sleeping with an electric blanket and turning up the Thermostat. I feel warmer standing on the rug buddy or sitting on the couch with my feet on it. The cord is thick, so I definitely recommend putting this next to furniture that the cord can go under. I also recommend getting a plug in Thermostat that allows you to set the temperature this turns on at and has different options for what time of day it is, since there are no built-in controls.

I had higher hopes for this rug warmer. It does get warm so I guess it “works” but it certainly doesn’t contribute to warming the room. I would call it a bonus to feel a slight warmth on your feet but you won’t feel it if you have slippers on. I was also disappointed that the cord was so thick it’s impossible to hide under the rug. They definitely should have made this cord flat. It’s noticeable enough that my Roomba does a little Evel Kenevel jump over it. All in all, it does warm the rug but not to the point I would recommend the purchase.

I bought two of these to use them under a large rug in a finished basement. The basement floor is always cold even if I have several heat registers, i.e., , the basement room is warm overall but the floor always feels cold and chilly on the feet. This mat solved the problem. Now I can finally use my nicely finished basement.

So warm!! I love that I was able to save thousands of dollars by not getting heat installed under my floor. The rugbuddy creates warmth but not too hot. This won’t heat a room but i sure can tell the difference when standing on my rug. Only drawback is it does shift sometimes as the duct tape they send to attach it doesn’t hold well. Would suggest getting better duct tape and also adding some tape to the center area do some extra hold.

It warms the floor, but you have to be sitting on it to feel it. Is that the design? The box it came in was accidentally thrown out, or I would have returned it. I'm not sure if it is faulty or only designed to prevent the floor from freezing. Our family room is freezing all the time, and I was hoping it would put off more heat.

The review is probably more like 3 and a half stars, but since the heater works well I gave it the 4. Please read on. The rug buddy generates a gentle heat, which is nice. I did not notice any crinkly noise like one review indicates. Plusses: 1) It does heat under the rug and 2)I don't believe it will damage the floor underneath as I have a rug pad under it as suggested. Minuses: 1) It takes several minutes to warm up, so you've got to plan or use a timer. 2) The cord to the heater is bulky and unsightly. I didn't realize that it would show so much. Since the rug and the heater are rectangular and can only go one side up, choices for hiding it are pretty limited. Unfortunately mine is in plain, ugly sight. 3) There is NO on/off switch. Since we don't use it with a timer, we've got to plug it in/unplug it when we use it. That's really pesty. Seller: Question for you: Can you use the test/reset buttons as an on/off switch or is that not a good thing? Thanks!
