The Real Deal - Mark 3 - 2.1 oz for the 2x3
This is the real deal - from what I read (not from experience) this does seem military grade. It has a reflective grid in the center hole that helps you pinpoint where you are aiming, and the instructions on the back are really helpful. I believe this reflective grid is what makes this mirror Mark 3.Some people complain it is heavy. Ok, sure, for the size it feels heavy. But the 2x3 size is 2.1 oz (60 gr) - in my mind, totally acceptable. It is a real mirror, but well built and rugged. I will still wrap it in something useful.I am buying two more. I totally recommend.

Do you really want to pack a heavy glass mirror in your pack?
I can't fault this product at all for its design and construction. This is a serious piece of kit. Nothing cheap about it. But after receiving it, I realized that it's probably more than I, and perhaps most people, really need, primarily because of its bulk and weight. I also have concerns about durability. Others who have used this type of mirror may have other opinions based on their experience, but lacking such experience it does seem plausible to think that without extensive protection (which must be purchased separately) a heavy glass mirror like this would be prone to shattering when carried in a pack. This might be something that one person in a backpacking group could carry for the benefit of the entire group, but in my own pack, where I fret over every needless ounce, I doubt that I would pack this mirror, now that I've handled it.I understand that glass is the optimal material for maximum range, but I may choose a less optimal mirror that is smaller, lighter and more likely to stay intact if I ever truly needed it.

Product is durable, handy and when needed does the job.
Product came intact and ready to use, instructions clear to follow and when needed will be essential and quick to employ for signaling purposes.

Works like it's supposed to
Sandwiched glass with a reflector between. I'd rather the labeling be printed on the inside so it can't wear off, but the reflector does work, unlike some other resellers likely shipping factory rejects. Just put the dot on target.

Serious Signal Mirror
I've had a plastic signal mirror in my glovebox for years. Planning for a backpacking trip recently I decided to buy a better mirror. When the glass mirror arrived, I compared the two; casting a light on a tree in my yard, with each mirror. The glass mirror was FAR BETTER, brighter, leaving a sharper, well-defined light on the tree trunk. The plastic mirror cast a fuzzy, washed-out, barely discernible light on the tree. The glass signal mirror is much more intense.I was going to save the plastic mirror as a backup, but I'm going to toss it. It's lighter than the glass but if I needed it, it wouldn't get the job done.

Sturdy, quality, glass signaling mirror
Great signaling mirror. Center aiming hole is thached with anti-glare patches and is just under a dime's diameter. Quality and sturdy but is a thick glass mirror, requiring care when handling and packing. Excellent clarity! Has a cord loop through one corner. Comes packaged in a sealed aluminum-lined paper zipper lock pouch and wrapped with cardboard inside.

quality high
Have with other essential emergency/survival stuff. Size is right for that, however if bulk isn't an issue would use the larger full size mirror.takes a sunny day to acquire understand the aiming method, bit dim in cloud.requires a bit of traing. See old military film on youtube
