There are a number of liquids, capsules, and sprays on the market for giving you energy and taking your stress levels down. This is the only one which I have used which does not leave a awkward disgusting taste in your mouth, it doesn't take forever to take effect, and it actually does what it claims to do. In terms of dosage I use this when my anxiety shows her face and insomnia starts to kick in. This is such a good product I made a point to order two bottles just in case the supplier should run out.

Very useful for relaxation, calming frayed nerves, and gently inducing sleep - I've tried various different brands of dried Valerian capsules/tablets in the past and never felt much of an effect from any of them, but this tincture is most definitely "active." Really nice to have this on hand as a relaxation aid/stress reliever and sleep aid. The capsules also had that characteristic funky odor, and I have to say that while this product definitely has a strong and unmistakable taste and smell to it, the flavor sort of borders on sweet... funky sweet, I guess. But I find it a lot more palatable than the scent that hits you when you open up a jar of valerian capsules. I've always found HerbPharm's products in general to be of high quality, and this one is no exception. Will definitely be ordering again as I am just about out of my current bottle. I'm not a doctor but one thing I'd mention as well as just a little tip from user to user - start out with a small dose and see how it affects you, then gradually increase until you get to know this substance and how it will affect your body. For just general "cup of tea" level relaxation enhancing effects, I take a very small dose; when I'm stressed out or upset about something and want a gentle herbal product to kind of take the edge off, I basically double that small dose; if I'm trying to get to sleep and having a hard time doing so, I take 3x the small dose, maybe 4-5x at times, but really never higher than that or else I feel groggy and foggy upon waking up and it persists for first half of my day. Works great my wife has had insomnia as long as I can remember. She takes it every night. And has been able to sleep for the first time I can remember.

Works pretty good for anxiety. I got the one with alcohol which tastes like straight liquor so be mindful there. I’m a recovering addict so I take a couple droppers since it takes a lot for me to feel certain relief and results.

This has been a game changer for me . I’d fall asleep, get woken by my neighbor leaving for work at 5am and not be able to get back to sleep. This has not been a problem since I’ve used the Valerian tincture from Herb Pharm . Now I get my 7-8 hours sleep a night

I love Herb pharm tinctures normally but this Valerian tincture must have been a bad or old bottle it tastes like straight liquid mold :( will have to throw out. I've had valerian tincture before so I know this one is not right.

I have been using Herb Pharm products since the company first went into business in about 1979. If you want a properly prepared herbal product, Herb Pharm is the best choice. The Valerian Root extract uses the correct parts of the plant and is of a good strength. It does what the various Herbals and information on herbs says it's supposed to do. Valerian is not supposed to smell very good and it can be an acquired taste. Some people will never like the taste. It can be mixed with beverages or honey etc to mask the taste. Don't be surprised if your cat is drawn to it. Cats often go as crazy for valerian as they do for catnip, but I would not give any of the extract to a cat because of its alcohol content.

My wife is from South America and her mother both used Valarina for a natural way to sleep but also to slow down a fast heart beat. This product does exactly the same. Great value for money
