๐ณAMAZING PRINT EFFECT - The PLA filament is color change dual colors - black, purple, and a little blue as a transition color. You would get a complete discoloration when you print a 120g object. The reason why this 3D printer filament looks beautiful is the wonderful silk PLA filament surface. Review: Great colors but lacks gradient - Beautiful sheen and color mix, but I did notice it will show more black or purple depending on print orientation. No clogs or breaking, but it doesnโt really mix the colors very well. Review: Hone in your printers settings and its great! - Initially I had a hard time using this filament like many of the other comments mentioned. However I just did a little research on settings and was able to get it printing really well. The filament itself is a beautiful color and there's a slight Sparkle to it. I really like it and once you hone in your specific printers settings it works great

Spool has glue holding the strands on to it
The first two prints off of this roll were great! A third was "successful" after some manual interference. The colors are perfect and the flow was excellent when it worked. Adhesion may be "too" good. Bed adhesion is great. I was printing a "print-in-place" travel case that I've printed numerous times before and had done with the first run of this filament. The second time attempting the print, the hinges were welded to the body causing catastrophic failure and destroying a nearly 5-hour print. This occurred twice more. I adjusted the settings and increased the infill to try again only to find that at roughly the 60% mark of the roll, the strands had some sort of glue holding the strands together. I am printing on a Bambu Labs Carbon X1 that has not seen a filament yet that it cannot print. This glue however caused the motors in the automatic material system (AMS) to overheat trying to pull the filament from the roll. Once discovered, I attempted to unroll the spool by hand past the glue and the stuff holding it snapped the strand. I was able to get the strand to run through the printer and free up the stuff I could see and continued the print. Near the bottom three layers of the spool (as indicated in the photo) there was more of this glue. I was able to get a successful print from it, but I will be forced to throw away the remainder of the roll including the now broken again strand standing in the printer. Overall, beautiful stuff. Printability though, I'm on the fence. I've had three "good" prints off an entire roll of the stuff, something I have not had to deal with since my older printer. The X1 is a great machine that I have not had to do much with when it comes to making any filament work aside from minor adjustments and small calibrations. NO machine that I'm aware of can counter filament being adhered together on the roll though. I will say that it was not at all spooled incorrectly. Every strand was laid perfectly, but no one should be applying an adhesive to something that is meant to roll right off. I'd consider using the stuff again, but I'm kind of leary that the company uses the same method on other rolls. I may just have to look elsewhere.

Pretty filament, troublesome qc
Addendum: The manufacturer reached out to me after my original 2 star review and provided a replacement spool that prints well. Based on my experience I'd be comfortable buying from them again, but I'd keep in mind that I may need to reach out in case I get another bad spool. With the new one, it's a great all around filament. The filament is very pretty, and the black and purple effect is really nice, but it's one of the single most annoying PLAs I've had the displeasure of printing with. The filament just does not wanna stick to my Prusa XL's bed no matter what settings I use, and has failed more often than it's succeeded. To get a good print I usually have to spend at least a few hours tuning the settings to exactly what this persnickety plastic demands I use. I can't recommend it over other two-tone silk PLAs unless there's no other brand selling the color you're after.

Looks cool clogs fast
I chose this filiment mainly for the color but also wanted to try out some of the Amazon options vs name brand high quality filiments. I've gotten a surface test, a benchy, and then nothing but a big ol clog. The first prints worked well then all of a sudden during a longer print it clogged. I got another color of the same brand and haven't tried it yet but am almost worried too due to how long it took me to get the first clog undone. The color is cool but the roll I received looked more blue black then purple black but that could just be the luck of the roll and where the colors change I may have not gotten to the more purple color yet but probably won't if I keep having issues. Update: Company reached out and sent some stuff to try and diagnose the issue and decided I received a bad roll. Sent a new one right away and so far I've had way less trouble and no clogs yet!
