SeKi Easy Plus Universal Remote Control with Learning Function Black

My 101 year old mum recently started to struggle with her original and rather more complicated JVC remote control. Perhaps this was due to occasionally accidentally pressing a wrong function button. But also the original remote had become a bit temperamental after it had been dropped. Before I attempted to program it myself I studded the suppled instructions carefully and also watched some instructional YouTube videos. Incidentally, I omitted the channel up/down button to keep things even more simple. Note that once you start the programming sequence, you need to proceed through the entire procedure reasonably promptly, because if you pause too long between button presses, the programming is aborted. This happened to me during the first attempt, however, it probably takes less than a minute once you get into the rhythm. It wouldn’t hurt to rehearse before actually doing the programming, but it’s very easy to just start again if it times out. In spite of a great deal of initial reluctance and scepticism, my mum had no problems whatsoever using the new remote, so a solid 5 stars recommendation😊.

The great thing about this is that it is learning only. Doesn't take codes like some but what this means is you can take only what commands you need from the original handset. Assign any button on this to any button from your original. I have taken basic commands from a Panasonic TV and added what was needed from a Sony Freeview tuner to run both from this handset. You do this holding the handsets head-to-head. Took several goes on some to get a good copy and the learning mode defaults off quickly but once you work that out it is fab! The big buttons function very well too, precise. Instructions were in English and German on mine. I have ordered a second one of these for some other equipment.

replaced a complex small button tv remote ,with this for a 91 year old lady. perfect , no issues , easy to program .

Much easier to programme than the Schwaiger UFB1201533 I bought, even though it has quite a few more buttons. Easy to use for visually impaired.

Bought to control the power to two devices (projector/receiver) to avoid using two remotes. I have FINALLY got it working, but when programming it would 'forget' previously programmed buttons seemingly only remembering the last button done and other times random ones. Tried it in different orders and just as I was about to give up and return it after about twenty minutes I got a configuration that worked. OK so the volume up/down on my receiver only worked when used the PRG up/down instead, but I can live with that. I assume using it with just one device may be perfect, but if you need it for two and fancy a random challenge then this is the remote for you.

three of us tried, nobody could make it work with the LG OLED TV despite trying multiple times.

Bought as a gift which has not yet been given. Merits with my expectations, visually. Don't know how well it will work or suit the recipient

Super schnelle Lieferung! Ich habe diese Fernbedienung für eine ältere Dame mit Sehbehinderung(97Jahre) bestellt. Die Tasten sind ausreichend groß, gut beschriftet und lassen sich auch gut erfühlen. Die Programmierung war ruckzuck erledigt, sehr einfach. Das gute ist, man muss nicht alle Tasten aktivieren. Wir haben nur die belegt, die für eine einfache Bedienung des Fernsehers nötig sind. D.h. Ein/Aus, Lautstärke, Programme. Die Seniorin kommt gut damit zurecht. Wirklich empfehlenswert!

Il telecomando funziona bene, abbastanza semplice da programmare; tutto ok anche con la spedizione, veloce e puntuale. Esperienza positiva.

Ottimo telecomnando, acquistato per un familiare anziano che si perde con tutti quei tastini minuscoli dei telecomandi TV originali. La programmazione è semplicissima e l'ho fatta in non più di tre minuti: tenendo premuti contemporaneamente i tasti AV e Vol- si accende una spia rossa, a quel punto si può programmare un tasto alla volta, premendo quello desiderato sul telecomando Seki (si spegne la spia rossa), e poi subito dopo quello che si vuole accoppiare dell'altro telecomando (si riaccende la spia rossa), poi si passa al successivo. Più semplice di così... Ho assegnato al tasto AV > TV/Radio, all'asterisco > INFO, a TXT > EPG. I tasti sono grandi, comodi e visibilissimi anche per chi ha problemi di vista, e rispondono immediatamente alla pressione.

Achetée pour remplacer une télécommande programmable (chère !) mais dont les piles ne tenait pas 3 mois (sûrement à cause de l'écran rétroéclairé)... La programmation de la Seki EasyPlus se fait très facilement. La notice n'est pas longue et il n'y a que le nécessaire pour "mettre en route". Cette télécommande n'a pas de code prédéterminé, ni de recherche automatique. Il faut la télécommande d'origine à copier. L'apprentissage se fait très simplement : l'ancienne télécommande et la nouvelle face à face, puis deux boutons qu'on appuie simultanément pendant quelques secondes sur la Seki EasyPlus. Il ne reste qu'à appuyer sur le bouton de la Seki qu'on veut programmer, puis après clignotement de la LED, appuyer sur le bouton de l'ancienne télécommande qu'on veut copier. On répète l'opération "touche Seki <-> touche ancienne télécommande" jusqu'à ce qu'on a tout "copié". À noter que ces opérations sont à faire assez rapidement "dans les 3 secondes environ" sinon la Seki sort du mode apprentissage, donc cela peut être assez surprenant au début. Exemple de mon cas pour vous donner une idée : j'ai pu copier et donc utiliser les touches suivantes de mon ancienne télécommande : Touches vol+ et - Prg + et - Sourdine On/Off 1 à 6 J'utilise les touches 7, 8, 9, 0 pour (resp.) gauche, haut, droite, bas, mon ancienne ayant un jog de sélection. -- ++ Bilan ++ Points positifs : + Apprentissage facile et rapide + N'utilise que deux piles AAA + Larges touches bien espacées et très accessibles (que ce soit pour des seniors ou non). + Fonctionne bien à 2m de recul (mon cas) + On ne perd pas l'apprentissage lors du remplacement des piles (j'ai attendu 10 minutes piles retirées). Points négatifs : - Finition OK, mais le plastique est "lisse", pas anti-dérapant. - Pas de rétroéclairage (mais pour moi c'est un point positif car les piles vous disent merci). - Autonomie à vérifier dans les prochains mois (je pense qu'elle sera longue) - L'emplacement des piles n'est pas très "stable" et les contacts (bout métal au contact des piles) font un peu "légers/fragiles" et ont la bougeottes, mais ça marche :) - Pas de petits crans sur les touches "centrales" pour se repérer (par exemple sur le 5 pour savoir qu'on est au milieu rien qu'au toucher), OK ce n'est pas négatif mais je cherche les points négatifs ;) Au final, cette télécommande répond complètement à mes attentes (non sénior) qui sont de remplacer une télécommande avec le maximum de touches et avoir une meilleure autonomie. Il reste l'autonomie à vérifier mais si je ne reviens pas modifier mon commentaire c'est qu'elle est bonne (au moins 6 mois).
