Brute Rollout Trash/Garbage Can/Bin with Wheels, 50 GAL, for Restaurants/Hospitals/Offices/Back of House/Warehouses/Home, Gray

I just moved and didn't have a truck to buy a big trash can at the store, so I love that I was able to get this delivered from Amazon. This was not quite as large as I was imagining, but it does the job. We are a family of 5 living in this house, and we create quite a bit of trash. We have trash service that takes our trash twice a week, and I do not have problems with overflow. The size might actually be preferable since it will be much easier to clean this can. There is nothing worse than feeling like you have to climb inside a trash can to clean the bottom. This one will feel much less like I am trapped inside while cleaning it. The item is made of good quality plastic and the rollers on the back work well and have not given me any problems. We have had a couple storms and I have not had issues with it filling with water or wanting to flip over. I imagine if there was nothing inside it might want to flip over, but it is not so lightweight that I have issues in inclement weather. Overall I am very satisfied with the price, size, and quality of the item.

I ordered two of these to replace two others (not Rubbermaid brand) I'd had for about 15 years. I wanted a large trash can with wheels and an attached lid; you know how lids disappear! These cans are VERY well built and VERY solid. I'm sure they'll last for decades! However, these trash cans are big. So, I couldn't use the same size 55 gallon bags I'd used in my old cans. I called Rubbermaid and asked their tech support folks: 1) will I be able to use a trash bag in these cans and 2) is there some way to secure the trash bag to the top rim of the can? The answers to both questions were yes! These cans have built-in hooks just under the rim (one at each corner) which "hooks" the bag and prevents it from slipping into the trash can. As far as what size bag to use, I had to discover that myself. The size bag you need is 65 gallons, and ULINE offers this bag (44 x 55" 65 Gallon 1.7 Mil Steel Tuff Liners) on their Web site. NOTE: you'll find 65 gallon trash bags on Amazon; however, what you won't find is a 65 gallon bag which is 55 inches tall. These Rubbermaid cans are tall, and if you try any trash bag shorter than about 55 inches, you won't have enough bag left to tie closed. That's the mistake I made when I first bought bags for these cans. I bought 65 gallon bags which were only about 48 inches tall; that's way too short. So, if you buy one of these large cans, PLEASE buy the larger ULINE bags!

Replaced my old Rubbermaid Commercial 50G. trash can after 20 yrs. of use. It fit perfect in my garage & rolled-out to the curb twice a week for all these years before it recently started showing cracks in the plastic on the bottom of the can. Went on a search at a few hardware stores to replace & found they were not selling Rubbermaid - although the 50G trash bin's they were selling were about 1/2 the price they just seemed cheep in comparison & had unusual deep bottoms. So happy that I found my old Rubbermaid trash bin on Amazon - ordered and received within 2 days - it look's identical - came ready to use & roll-out to the curb.

Does the Job. I expected the material to be a bit better given the expensive price. The plastic feels a bit thin compared to other heavy duty trash cans. So far wheels haven't fallen off, hopefully they don't. Will report back in 6 months. Also would be nice if the lid clipped or snapped shut. I had to buy bungee ropes to secure lid over trash can so that rodents don't easily access the trash.

I bought 2 of these. They are not as big as the typical trash pickup ones but at 50 gal they are good for putting around the yard by the patio to catch paper and plastic cookout wrappings and debris. I also keep one by the chicken coop for a convenient place to trash the feed bags, grass cuttings, etc. At this size they don't need emptying often and I keep 55 gal bags in them with those elastic bag holders to keep them clean inside. When needed, I bring the bag up to the larger pickup barrels and put a new bag in. The 40 gal size is easier to manage for all of us as we get older. Like other Rubbermaid products they are sturdy, and durable, and are not appealing out wildlife. I bought the blue ones because they are so much cheaper and I don't care about the color since they are stationary. Great to have the wheels in case they did get too heavy to move just the bag.

The trashcan is very sturdy, BUT... it is extremely top heavy. You cannot roll it without it tipping over! Not happy with the WHEEL DESIGN at all. The wheels need to be wider and larger, so it has more stability. Otherwise, I loved the trashcan. The trashcan itself, without rolling is a great trashcan, if you have a way to tie it to a pole & leave it. I hope they will get this issue resolved, because I would like to have a sturdy trashcan that you can actually roll without it tipping over. My husband refused to use it and we are back to using our old trashcan again.
