I purchased this tripod above all others for: size; weight; versatility [aka complexity]; and the ability to place it in H2O up to the design limits! This alone, is worthy of your considerations, if you frequent beaches / coasts with shallow sloping shelves, especially during extremely low tides, when one can go where few have tread before, for scenes from a much different perspective.This tripod does take some time to establish a serious relationship, like any other relationship! But, like any worthwhile relationship, it is well worth your effort. The range of positons is virtually unlimited! So, be prepared to explore the possibilities. Like many items I have purchased from Craghoppers [Manchesters] or Simply Be, both located in the UK, the creative designers are quite clever indeed! The time that you invest in exploring your universe, will be amply & appropriately rewarded.You will be exceedingly pleased, with the choice that you made, but this will only come with the more time that you spend / invest with your new toy, that will amaze & delight You! You love it or hate it.It give great flexibility and versatility and I wish handling was not so demanding. My girlfriend was unable to tighten the main joint enough to hold a small DSLR with a kit lens. I always feared I'd break the thread.Also, the screws on the legs are plastic rings around an inch in diameter - they are round so are not easy to tighten with 2-3 fingers and are too small to use the whole hand.Gave it to a friend who's been a big fan for long years.

Perfect tripod, brilliant for macro work. Bit tricky at first, but well worth the extra effort I needed. Now love it.

This has been a part of my kit for many years. Its design, like all Benbo's, takes a little time to become familiar with but from then onwards it becomes amazingly flexible for all purposes.The tripod is durable and offers a lightweight construction for carrying distances but combined with enough strength to be useful.I use it with a very strong Manfrotto ball and socket quick release head. That will take even the heaviest camera/lens combinations without drifting off target.This is not a toy tripod. It is a serious piece of useful kit and does everything it has been designed for.
