I purchased this item for a hat competition during a trip to Costa Rica and it was a hit! I am not very tech savvy but found the functionality of this item super easy! I was able to control the words on the hat which made for alot of laughs. The color and fit was perfect - definitely true to "one size fit all"! The battery life was longer than expected! Super cute, comfortable, functional and affordable!

I freaking love this hat. I wear it to my daughter’s cheer competitions, and it’s become kind of my signature look. It’s super easy to program… I’ve got it scrolling some great sayings that get plenty of laughs (and maybe a few eye rolls). The brightness is solid, the battery lasts a long time, and the app makes it simple to change messages on the fly. My daughter says it’s cringe, which in dad language means I nailed it. It is a perfect fit and goes with my light up suit perfectly. For the price I want to get two! You won’t be disappointed if are looking for mild embarrassment for your teen. Great bang for the buck!

I bought this for an upcoming concert that I was attending. Needless to say, I made an impact. Everyone complemented me on how nice my hat looked. The designs and logos were fun, except there were a few political images that I didn't care for too much. I highly recommend buy this if you want to make a statement.

For the hat itself: The LEDs are displayed behind a cloth panel, so that's going to dim them a bit, but it's not too bad at night. the hat itself is on the large size... but it needs to be in order to house the display. Quality is OK. It's comfortable enough, but you aren't wearing this hat day to day. Where this product suffers is in the app. It's every bit as frustrating as you imagine it could be, and more. First off, who puts the "erase one pixel" RIGHT NEXT to the "trash the whole design" button, on a touch screen? And speaking of touchscreen, your only drawing option is a landscape representation of the hat display - oriented horizontally on a smartphone app that only works vertically. On my phone my "design space" is less than 2" wide... now try to touch one pixel that's 1/32 of that. You can zoom, but it's frustrating and time consuming, and necessarily means you can only see a part of the screen. The "mirror about axis" and "shift the design around the screen" tools are useful... but that's really about it for drawing tools. Pretty limited. The drawing space would be MUCH more useful if it could be rotated to use a smartphone's screen. Or better still, a web interface for your PC. Or the ability to import bitmaps or something. But I ask too much. There's a tool that allows you to import an image, but the image translation is awful and it's next to useless. The included animations and images (Vietnam flag and no others? Why not!) were very clearly NOT made on the app that ships with this hat. So why don't we get access to whatever those tools are? Also limited are the color options. You should get millions of colors, but here you get a handful of presets. There's a slider that opens things up a bit, but no ability to remember a color you picked. Also, if there is an ability to set the intensity of an individual pixel, I haven't found it. The organization of the app is weird and not intuitive, and the included printed directions are nothing more than reproductions of the various screens, without any actual words on how to use them. It's not clear how something goes from "design on your phone" to "program to the hat" mode, but it just sort of... happens. You'll spend some time deleting half-designed animations and images from the program list. My last gripe is about the program list itself. You can't rearrange it, so forget about any sort of cohesive "show" sequence you wanted to design. When something gets programmed into the list, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to where it shows up. it's just random, apparently. Lat but not least, and very frustratingly, the hat only remember the last thing it did. You send it a "program list" of a bunch of animations and designs and it'll work. Until you charge it or turn it off. When it comes back on, you get the last thing it was doing and that's it. You have to re-upload everything again. That's emblematic of the whole thing, to me. The app is not well-thought, clunky, and hard to use, and it brings down the quality of the whole product. It's a neat novelty for what it is, and mostly worth the few bucks, but don't expect too much.

Everyone loved it! Easy to use. Lots of fun animations etc to choose from and you can create your own. Decent battery life. Thanks x

I am incredibly frustrated with the inability to connect this hat to my iphone via bluetooth. My iOS is as up-to-date as possible (26.0.1) on my iPhone 12 Pro, the iPixel Color app has been downloaded and has been updated to its latest version (v4.5.0). My bluetooth is on, my location services are on, I've power-cycled everything twice, and these two devices will not talk with each other. The instructions seem to be written for Android users and they do not help iPhone users at all. This hat gets two stars because, for what it is worth, it works to a very minimal extent without a bluetooth connection (it comes with a few, random, uncustomizable default displays that are entertaining to my son). I would recommend spending a little more money and getting something reliable. Also, unbelievably: The instructions for this hat have a warning that says, "To maintain compliance with FCC's RF Exposure guidelines, this equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance of 20cm the radiator your body." Aside from how poor that language is... it is a hat. It is not intended to be worn 20cm from the user's body.

Love the hat. It is a bit bigger than I expected. But with halloween coming I will most likely use it for decoration. And of course I will be wearing this for our Annual halloween party which i go to every year.

I love this hat I wear it all the time I love the little animation on it I love the black battery life is pretty good brightness at night is great hard to see during the day and very easy to use and it's fun
