This is an amazing watercolor set, at a very good price. The pigments are intense and the range of colors is amazing. Also the brushes are numerous and quite usable. The design of the set is good for use and portability. The only criticism I have is the small quantity of each color…but, that’s OK given the price and quality of the paints. I enjoy painting with this set and recommend it for artists and students.

Really nice set of watercolor paints. Gorgeous colors. I've only just started playing with it and can already feel these are better quality than what I already had. These paint blocks are so smooth, and when you add the water & paintbrush, it's like magic. The colors are vivid and the pigment is strong. It's very enjoyable to use these paints. I love that they provide the test sheets so you can see the colors before you decide which ones you want to use in your project. They also include brushes & the watercolor brushes that you put water in. The metallic colors are beautiful! The florescent ones are very full of pigment and so bright and cheerful. Very nice set that I would recommend strongly. I think more so for beginners. I'm going to be sad when these start getting used up. I would definitely buy these again. Update, several months later: I've been using these regularly and I still really like them a lot. I am aware there are better quality (and much more expensive) ones out there, but if you are just starting out with little or no watercolor experience, these are so great to start with. They aren't the real cheapie ones they sell for children. I am always surprised at the strength of the pigment. For someone who is only just learning how to use watercolor, this has been a really good set to learn with. Please note I am not trying to be a professional artist, I just wanted something that looked good on my craft projects. I use these paints on so many different types of paper as well - everything from watercolor paper to cardstock. This set has been really fun. Now that I'm starting to run out of paints, I'll be looking at the same brand for the next set.

Pros- variety of colors, comes with pencil, sharpener, eraser, multiple paint brushes, a color sheet you can paint your colors on, a small sponge and a mixing tray. Cons- the color code doesn’t fit in the carrying case neither does all the brushes. If you don’t know to spray the watercolors directly with water, you will have a hard time using them and get muted colors or have a hard time mixing them. It has taken me awhile to figure out I had to spray my watercolors directly to activate them and then wow! So much better! This is a great set for small spaces or on the go. Or if you’re just trying watercolor out for the first time.

This is a great student palette. You can't beat the value for the money. There are tons of colors and several metallic finishes. The pigmentation is quite good. The metallic colors like copper, gold, brass, bronze, silver (more gun metal grey) are metallic as well as some lighter tones. The reds, blues, and greens, not so much. I'd describe some of them as more of a muted satin finish. The metallics I'd be more inclined to use, do look pretty good. I've yet to swatch the metallics on black to give them a real chance to shine. There is a great array of colors for the beginner to explore, and far more than any artist would need as many can be made by mixing primary and secondary colors. That being said, it might be a bit much for the minimalist artist on the go would need. However , for the at home hobbyist this is a lovely set. The colors blend well. Not any appreciable granulation, however salt and spritz methods could render desired effects. I was impressed by the ease of the water pen/brushes to use. My first time, what a boon not needing a cup of water, save for a vessel to refill the water pen/brushes. I used paper towels between color changes. The white bristles are now stained, but no transfer of color, what so ever. AND THEY DIDN'T LEAK!

I bought this 50-color watercolor paint set for my daughter after she enjoyed watercoloring in her art class. While we don’t have much to compare it to—besides basic Crayola watercolor paints—she found these easy to use and said she really enjoyed working with them. Overall, we were really happy with this purchase and would definitely buy it again.
