Great product, slightly expensive
This product really works well. I was getting reflux after eating in the evening and at night before bed. Two teaspoons took care of the issue for me entirely. I use this every day and haven’t had any side effects except maybe some slight burping right after taking it but that doesn’t last long. The taste is fine, and the texture is kind of like pudding. I love that I’ve found something that stops my reflux without having to alter my stomach acid pH. I want to do everything I can to avoid PPIs. I wish more doctors suggested this as an option before prescribing drugs. The only issue I have with this is the price. I think it’s expensive for what it is but the tube is a reasonable size and I use my HSA to pay for it too so that helps.

Goes down easily.
I just used this for the first time last night. I thought it would be gross, but surprisingly, it wasn't at all. It squints out like toothpaste. I squirted some in a tablespoon, turned the spoon upside down & kind of licked it off with the middle of my tongue & swallowed. It has a pleasant taste, but I barely tracked that as it went down. Didn't feel weird--no slimy feel; just disappeared. No aftertaste. No burping up. Definitely no acid came up during the night. I took it just before bed. I'm weaning off my acid reducers & taking 3mgs melatonin every night. This of going to help tremendously. Wish I had heard of it sooner.

Works but awful texture.
I have never tried another alginate product before so they are probably all similar in texture but this one is horrible. The taste is fine and it does do its job. No complaints there. Only about the texture. It’s like a thick vaseline almost. It’s very hard because after I swallow it all I want to do is drink some water to get the feeling out of my mouth but you can’t do that or it will break the raft. However, I understand not everyone will have issues with the texture like I do. I am sensitive to things like that. But just be warned if you are too.

Works wonders for LPR!
My 65-year-old mother has had a persistent cough for the last four years that comes and goes. Over the last six months, her cough had gotten significantly worse to the point where she could not sleep at night, causing her to feel more ill. Within that six month period, she was overseas for three of those months. The overseas doctors did multiple chest xrays and didn't see anything particularly wrong with her, but prescribed her antibiotics twice in that 3 month period. After finally coming back home, mom's cough got better for a week and a half. We thought the environment was causing her cough to become worse. However, after the week and a half passed, the cough returned with a vengeance. She was now coughing so much, so loud, and so hard that none of us in our apartment were getting any rest throughout the days or nights, so fed up, I took her to City MD, where she had an xray done, appeared to have some scarring on her lungs, was diagnosed with pneumonia and referred to a pulmanologist. She was put on a mix of two different antibiotics, bringing her up to being prescribed and take a whopping 4 different antibiotics within a four month timespan. With the antibiotics from CityMD, she was also told to take SafeTussin as a cough suppressant. SafeTussin and the antibiotics worked for a week, during which time we visited a pulmanologist, who agreed with CityMD's diagnosis after reviewing the xrays. Within a few days, mom's cough came back, again. She was coughing so hard that it looked like she was choking. She now had shortness of breath with the cough. Her throat was raw from the coughing and her mouth was blistered. Within 10 days, we returned to the pulmanologist, did another xray, and were so frustrated because nothing seemed to help. Finally, the pulmanologist started asking questions about whether mom feels heartburn (no), if she feels acid reflux (very often), if she coughs a lot (obviously), if her voice is hoarse throughout the day (usually when she wakes), and a series of other questions. The diagnosis of pneumonia was changed and she was diagnosed with LPR, told to change her diet, get a wedge pillow, and take her omeprazole more consistently (she was really bad about that last one). All of that was done and her cough still was not easing up. We were told that it would take a while for the cough to go away, but mom and I were both at our wits end with the lack of sleep. I did some research on what helps with LPR and came across that Alginate really helps but forming a barrier over the stomach acid. Then I came across this product and read the ingredients list, which looked relatively clean. I bought the melatonin version first because it has the fastest delivery and God knows she needed the sleep that would come with it. The first night she took two teaspoons and SLEPT for two hours straight without coughing!!! The next day, I ordered the regular non-melatonin version of RefluxRaft. She started taking it after her meals, and her coughing decreased significantly more. She kept up this routine of taking omeprazole before her morning meal, taking RefluxRaft after her meals, taking RefluxRaft (melatonin) about two hours before bed and thank God, Within two weeks, her cough was almost fully gone. One thing I will say, if you have a bad cough, the lemon/ginger flavor might aggravate it. With LPR, it is best to avoid citrus flavors because they will aggravate the cough more. Mom has been using the berry flavor. Thankfully, her diabetes has not suffered any negative side effects by RefluxRaft. If you stayed towards the end of this review, I hope it provided you with some helpful information! I'll leave this same review on the other RefluxRaft product I purchased for mom.

Search no more, relief from LPR!
Finally, some relief from silent reflux! It took about a week until I started noticing a difference. My ENT was skeptical. The taste was pleasant. The consistency is hard to explain but it absolutely coats your throat. After being on several medications that did nothing, I was pleasantly surprised to use something so simple that works. If you're on the fence, give it a try!

STOPS REFLUX/HELPS ESOPHAGUS/NO MORE LUMP IN THROAT FEELING!
HAS THIS ALWAYS BEEN HERE?! WOW! If you’re like me, really bad acid, PPIs every couple of months, lump/ball feeling in throat after eating or drinking something, I promise you, spend the money & buy this! All I can say is WOW. It works so fast, it’s incredible. Get the Berry burst flavor, tastes good. I don’t write reviews but this worked so well I literally had to come straight here and write a review.

Overpriced and not really any better than gaviscon generic.
I can’t tell that it’s any better than generic gaviscon. It’s thick goo that makes me want to spit it out. The flavor (berry) is ok, but so far it seems to be another overpriced ripoff. Just my opinion.

Works, but cost is too high
It works for me after being recently diagnosed w LGR. I bought the Berry Burst and thought the taste was just fine. 4 stars because of the cost. A tube will not last 30 days, which is what it should last, IMHO. It is, however, cost comparable to other similar products. Easy to use, just don't use it after every meal unless you have to, or you'll run out very quickly.
