can it join two trains together?

Yes absolutely, my boys have one set each and regularly make a 6 carriage train with one engine travelling forward and one traveling in reverse. As the controllers connect via Bluetooth to the trains there is no issue with crossed signals. Only issue is when the boys try to play tug of war and try to pull in opposite directions! Not great for the train motors
