I have been remodeling my kitchen and getting rid of the tacky builders grade gold everything reminiscent of the late 90’s! I was after a country look and I saw this cute and quirky light! I put it above my sink and think it goes with the new style of my kitchen really well. The only thing I can say about it is that the light does not show downward because this is supposed to look like and old school oil lantern, but I have other lights that fill in for whats missing at my sink. It’s a great light and I really like it just be mindful of where you want to put it because the light does not shine downward but rather outward, and as others have stated it is a little tricky to get a bulb in there.

We bought these for our cabin. I was skeptical after some of the reviews but was pleased when they arrived. These lights are made from actual oil lanterns just like the ones you can purchase from Wal Mart for $16 That being said they are not designed to be taken out and used as a football. The lights are great and will last for many, many years. We installed ours without the heat deflector and they look great. They were easy to install and are just the right touch in the cabin.

These lights are a good value. Installing the bulb is tricky, but once you figure it out, it's not bad. The quality is actually better than I anticipated, and they look great on my front porch. I installed a dimmer switch for a softer mood in the evening. These lamps are exactly what I was looking for.

It is a beautiful product and well thought out. The sturdiness and quality is very good. One thing though: It is not the plug and play type. It does take a bit of pro sills to unwire existing light and then wire up this light to the socket in the ceiling. One con I noticed is that the chain brackets weren't easy to remove. Twisting using a plier wasn't that effective or I should have used better tools (which adds to the pro skills point). To use a standard size bulb, do the following. 1. With the bulb inside the glass enclosure, screw the bulb to the socket above. 2. With the upper part pulled up to it's maximum, bend the cross-angle metal glass holder to a flat position and the slide it below the glass. 3. Once slid in, re-bend the metal glass holder back to it's original shape. Overall, a good one.

Very, very bad engineering went into this product; BUT, very easy fix. Many reviews complained about fitting a standard size bulb in these lamps which is quite true without doing this simple fix. On the bottom section where the glass sits it is designed to swing out from the top but this prevents a standard size bulb to fit. Take the glass out of the fixture and simply bend a small tab down (as seen in pic) to let the bottom slide out. Now you can use a standard bulb. Considering the quality materials the lamp is made with along with the uniqueness of the lamp and the price it's worth the effort.

This is well built but the patina effect looks a bit chintzy and the colors are almost brassy looking. A standard light bulb will not fit in this lamp.

Looks great, easy to install, the small bulb that is required does not illuminate the room.

Looks great, compliments our room just perfect. Some did not hang straight and the glass did not sit propperly. A little tweeking and all good.
