Supco ST02 Stainless Steel HVAC/R Pocket Dial Thermometer, 0 to 220F

This is used to check the temperature of the air from my air conditioners, both vehicle and home window units. Living in Florida I have three for this purpose. When the temperature is no longer reaching the preset 40°F output I know the unit is falling so I prepare to replace it. A/C is vital for most of the year when heat and humidity reaches dangerous levels. It seems to be a quality product though it was not calibrated out of the box. Using a digital kitchen thermometer and a similar A/C probe in a glass of ice cubes and water I adjusted it to match the other two. No problem, it sits in the vent so I can check on it when I pass by. For the money it's a good value. It's analog, no batteries. Easy to use once calibrated you'll never have to touch it again. A durable product that will easily last for years.

Small dial is a little hard to read, otherwise works as intended. After complete auto a/c replacement, I wanted to monitor vent temps. Inserted this in a vent and left it. Still there and working 2 wks later.

As the title states, I use these in my home duct work to keep an eye on temps. One at the discharge of the coil and one in a vent farthest from the unit. I really like the 1 3/4" dial, much easier to read. Please verify at least the zero when you get one of these. As illustrated in the pictures, one of the two was off when I took it out of the package, but is super easy to calibrate with a 10mm or adjustable wrench. I can't verify the span since they don't read up to 212 degrees. That's ok because I use them below 60 degrees. If you don't know, a large cup packed with ice (crushed works great) and water will give you close enough to zero degrees C (32 F) to accurately calibrate. I really like them so far, much easier to read than the 1" versions.

I can't speak on the accuracy of the gauge, I never compared it to anything. I use it to check temperature difference at the vents and it worked great for that.

I use it at the AC vent of my car to see the vent temperature. It works very well, the size is good, and the face lens makes readings easy. It is useful and I recommend it.
