Tiny Adapter, Big Performance!
I recently picked up the Mercusys MA530 Bluetooth adapter, and it’s been a great little upgrade for my PC. Installation was super straightforward — just plug it into a USB port and it’s ready, with no faff. According to the official spec sheet, it supports Bluetooth 5.3 / 5.4, offering better speed and coverage than older versions. The nano‑form factor is a real plus — it’s tiny, barely sticks out of the USB port, and doesn’t feel fragile at all. Despite its size, the connection feels stable: I’ve used it with headphones, keyboard, and a mobile for file transfers, and it handles multiple devices with ease. The datasheet says it supports up to 7 simultaneous devices. Range is really good, too — Mercusys claims up to ~20 m in open space for this adapter. In everyday use it holds up well; I haven’t noticed dropouts or lag during streaming or transfers. On the downside, there are a few reports of issues on Linux — for example, some users on Reddit say the adapter is detected but doesn’t always find devices until certain firmware or driver tweaks are applied. So, if you’re using Windows, it’s pretty much plug-and-play. On Linux, you might need to fiddle a bit.

Good speeds despite being a little chonky
Bought as a temporary fix for a Linux machine until I could run cat6e to the NIC. This was auto detected by Ubuntu and Windows and worked out the box. After that I used it in a smart TV (again till I could run cat cables to it) and it had a noticeable improvement over the built in receiver. Now sits in my tech kit for whenever I need alongside a driver usb. It is a bit of a unit compared to other receivers but is well made and functions well enough for what I need it for.

12 months completely trouble free on Linuxj, pi, and windows for audio mice and keyboard
These are great. Good range, completely plug and play on windows 10, windows 11 and any recent Linux version. Great to see support for Linux as it is so often a bit hit and miss. Signal must be quite strong, I can sit more than five metres from Linux media box with perfect reception and absolutely rock solid signal. Bought one to use and it was so good I bought two more; one for a second crash n burn pc and a spare for when one gives up if it ever does. Been using them constantly for over 12 months and just as good now as day 1 Bluetooth connectivity: Great range, solid signal Ease of setup: Truly plug and play on all operating systems including windows 10, windows 11, Ubuntu, mint, raspberry pi Functionality: Used for audio, keyboard, mice; haven’t found anything at all that doesn’t work with it Value for money: stunning value, nice small form factor, and “just works”. Exactly as it should be

Great price
This device helped get my laptop up a running after a windows 11 update stopped it working. A great cheap repair tool

£8.99 is great value for WPA3
£8.99 is a great price for getting WPA3 security and 5 GHz on an old Win 10 laptop. When first used it connected to WPA2 by default, but after installing the official Mercusys drivers (from the support webpage), forgetting the Wifi network, and then reconnecting to the Wifi, a nice popup appears to inform you WPA3 is now active. Speeds are perfect for me, easily matching my ISP.

Disappointing
Bought this for a desktop and it's excellent when it works, but sadly, that's less than half the time. When it's working, I'm getting consistently over 140Mbps on a 145Mbps connection, which is better than I expected. However, it can be as low as 25Mbps for no obvious reason. Checked available speed using a laptop next to where the desktop is and it's steady around 145Mbps. Probably faulty, so sent back.
