They don't they are not tambourines or anything that will help the Capoeira unless you want the found of frogs. You run the staff up and down the ridges of the back of the frog and you can hear different tones of tones. Of course each size and wood type sounds like a different frog. That simple. I had a teacher who had a forest theme and needed something to get the children's attention. They got to play the frogs. That simple. They are cool. outside they sound different from inside but that the whole kitten caboole.

What species of wood are the frogs made of and what is the source? Please give accurate answer. It’s an important question.

Do they all smell like machine oil? It is not stain or varnish it is machine oil I know the smell very well.

The smell is lacquer, you can put it on the sun, the smell will disappear.
