While I initially considered borrowing books from the library, I'm grateful that we invested in this collection. I wish all kids books were like this. Beautifully written, with lovely ideas and messages for kids and adults - not at all preachy, kind without being syrupy, practical and pitched just perfectly - the emotions of the characters feel real, unforced and genuine, as well as being funny, engaging and enjoyable to read. They are beginner level readers, we read them to our boys, who then started reading them on their own once they'd learnt to read. A big hit in our house for our kids from age 3-6, and still dipped into every now and then by all of us too.
