Effective air purifier
Very happy with this air-purifier so far. We moved homes and wanted an in-expensive yet effective purifier to improve air quality after painting, adding new furniture etc to decrease the exposure to VOC in the air. It’s a good size and looks stylish. The night mode is great and very silent you can’t really even notice that with the light switched off. I leave it on an automatic setting which adjust the speed of the fan automatically. Like the fact it shows the level of pollution in real time with number and colour. Air in our new home seems to be to my surprise a good quality as it’s in blue zone with very low number most of the time - you are almost thinking if it’s even doing something but do a bit of cooking or blow off a candle and within a minute the machine picks up on it and starts to purify on higher speed as you can see the colour and number has changed. It even picked up on having a new washing machine running a cycle for the first time when you could smell the typical new appliance smell coming out of it. I find that it’s effective in purifying the room quickly back to the blue zone. We got two of those one for living room and one for bedroom. Good price per performance

So far I'm very happy with it. Great App.
- Useful app. Easy to use and offers good options for using the purifier remotely/timed. Settings for ambient light/readouts etc. - Good form factor for small bedrooms etc. - Very low noise. - Sensor seems effective and gives regular readouts. - Filter lifespan seems okay - 12 months. Seems will need cleaning approx. once a month. New filters are a reasonable price. So far I'm very happy with it. It has all the features and settings I would need. From past experience with purifiers, I just hope that they keep supplying the filters as it's very disappointing when a company stops offering essential service parts for a product after a few years. I hope Philips will commit to at least 5 - 10 years for the current models but we will see. Bought a replacement early just in case. I also bought the 2200 model shortly after. Overall, if the size isn't necessary, I actually think the 900 model is better in several ways considering the price. Slightly quieter and seemingly more accurate sensor. However the 2200 does have a 3-year filter life, which if it lives up to will be a significant advantage.

Discontinued product?
I picked this up in the sales for what I believed to be a bargain price. I have since read that this is because the item is now discontinued. While that might not seem to matter, my worry is; Will they still make genuine replacement filters for them? Currently, Philips sell genuine hepa replacement filters for around £40. Each filter lasts up to a year, depending on usage 3rd party filters don't seem to be up to the job The machine itself is brilliant. Works just as advertised. It reduces smells (great for cooking smells and farting animals, including husbands) and blows out clean, fresh air after going through the hepa filter The noise can be reduced through the sleep mode option, but I kinda like the noise it makes... it's almost like a white noise machine Appearance wise, it looks like a dalek (great if your a Dr.Who fan) TLDR; This really is a brilliant machine. Does exactly what it says it will. Great value in the sales. I just worry wether the filters will be available to purchase when needed in 12 months

Super happy. Simple. Low wattage. Cleans the air and no mold
I'm currently in a high humidity environment. Humidity in the home is well above the recommended 50% to 60% and doing nothing can mean itchy eyes , itchy scalp, mold and allergies. I've spent hours researching air purifiers, dehumidifiers and humidity, and re. the air purifier I went for the Philips AC0820/30. I want to thank Amazon too. I bought 3 and 2 of them were from Amazon Warehouse and the actual condition of the items (not boxes) was totally new. First, this "older version" AC0820/30 does the job with no problems in areas up to 49m2. The newer version (the one I don't have) is recommended for 65 m² and comes with a filter with an Activated Carbon layer (for smells). BUT if your area is no more than 49m2 not that both come with the HEPA NanoProtect layer and the replacement filters are the same for both versions, so you can buy a filter with the Activated Carbon layer if you want this for the older version too. This AC0820/30 has no Bluetooth connectivity and only 3 settings but quite honestly it is much cheaper, purifies the air, and you don't need to control it with your phone. Basically when it arrives, you take the filter out the bottom and take it out of its packaging (don't just turn it on) and then put it back in, turn it on and leave it. When you switch it on it starts in automatic mode and switches between Good (blue), Fair, Poor and Very Poor fan speeds drawing in air for air quality. It purifies 20m2 in 16 mins and 49m2 in 38 mins. Once the air is clean, the purifier runs for me 99% of the time in blue at a quiet hum continuing to keep the air clean at only 2.5 W (yes 2.5!) so no issue running it all day. Pressing the button again puts the fan at top speed (turbo mode) which runs at 18.5 W. Pressing it again turns the fan into sleep mode which forces the purifier to run at the lowest fan speed of 2.5 W regardless of air quality. The pre-filter layer traps dust mites and pet hair and the filter's main HEPA NanoProtect layer sucks in the fine particles like pollen, air pollution (pm2.5), bacteria, viruses, pet dander and - yes - mold spores. The optional Activated Carbon extra layer in future replacement filters is only for absorbing smells and odors, such as from food, cigarettes, pets, indoor waste and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). The purifier has a built in clock/timer that works out when the filter needs changing based on the fan speed and length of time running. The warning light will appear on the top display when the filter needs changing. Ignoring the light over time will apparently lock the device (which makes no sense to me since it just means the air is not cleaning and the light tells you that). However, at any time you can long press the button on the top for 3 seconds and the warning filter light will flicker a few times to tell you the internal counter has been reset. This is what you do when you replace the filter, but you can do it any time (before the warning light appears) too so you have full control of filter replacement. You can take it out, clean it, or replace it before the warning (for one with an Active Carbon layer for example) or after the warning, reset it and use the same filter a little longer. That's all it does and all you need it to do - so I'm well happy. Replacement filters are around £30/€30 for 2 with Active Carbon and HEPA filtration and cheaper without the Active Carbon and it is recommended they should be replaced at minimum every 6 months. So does it work? Well, with humidity here in the range of 70% to 85% (mold spore heaven) no mold is forming! (dehumidifier on the way). That means that while a dehumidifier stops mold from growing in the first place, this air purifier is perfectly capable of removing the mold spores floating around. I don't have pets or allergies or cigarette smoke in the house so I can't comment on the other reasons and ways people might evaluate its effectiveness (so I'd read other reviews for that) but if it removes 99.5% of particles as small as 0.003 microns (µm) which is smaller than any known virus on planet Earth, and - much more importantly - I don't have to worry about mold; I'd recommend cause very happy.

Good looking and efficient machine that works
A good machine, that does what says it will do. Quite on night mode gives a an indication of air quality. Noisier at higher levels. Time will tell if it will reduce the hay-fever of my grandchild. At the moment his coughing has reduced dramatically and he has not needed his pumps. Very good for the price (paid £100) and I would recommend

Highly effective and easy to use
High quality purifier, very effective and fast, clears pollen really well and even smoke smell and particulates. Has a low voltage end cable to the unit with socket mounted transformer, which is ideal if you have pets.

Excellent Air Purifier, Quiet and Effective
This has been a great air purifier for our home. We have used it for around a year now and it has genuinely helped with asthma and breathing issues for people in the house. I was happy enough with it that I bought another one, so we now have one in the bedroom and one in the living room. It is very quiet on the lowest setting, almost silent, which makes it easy to leave running in the background. It also does not seem to use much power, so it feels practical to keep on 24/7. Overall, I have been really pleased with it. It is effective, quiet and easy to live with.
