If you want the best modern bedside pistol safe, this is it. It’s really expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you can afford a gun, then you can afford to secure it properly especially if you have kids. It does everything and even sends alerts to your phone when it’s opened or tampered with. It’s very sleek-looking and anyone not familiar with it just thinks it’s an alarm clock, charging station, or radio. Everything about it is customizable, and it’s extremely easy to use. Noises and alerts are customizable, and fingerprint recognition has been 100%. I did two prints of each finger; one triple-scan of each finger flat and one triple-scan of each finger tip angled down. It took me a minute to find the left and right control buttons to set up the code and fingerprints, but they’re inside the safe underneath the keypad. The only negative thing I have to say about safe is the back-up AAA battery compartment (inside the safe at the back) is a little hard to get to if you have big hands, but thankfully they last a really long time if you keep the station plugged into the wall.

my full echelon, or full 2011 fits with sight and laser combo light and a full 21 mag !!! i am able to keep it on the side bed with out worry of the kids potentially grabing it, or the need to put it on the big safe away from my bed in case of emergency.

ITS A NICE SAFE, LIKE ALLS THE GAGETS IT HAS TO KEEP MY FIREARM LOCKED AND SAFE FROM MY LITTLE ONES. JUST WISH I HAD A ALARM CLOCK SETTING SO I DIDNT HAVE TO USE MY PHONE.

Overall very good product. The only thing that made it confusing/frustrating is the app. If you have the DS5I it has bluetooth and you use the VISN 2.0 app. If you have the NDS5I. It does not have bluetooth and the 2.0 app doesn't work. Use the regular app. Having that be a little more clear in the QR code instructions would've saved a lot of confusion. Other that that nonsense. Love it

The safe disconnects from wifi regularly and the biometric scanner just doens't work very well. My Non-Visn Lockbox is going to stay my main one.

I bought my DS5i through an authorized retailer March 2025. The safe works well and feels sturdy and secure. The problem is I've had electrical component issues with two units now. My first one, the wireless charging pad stopped charging my phone in June 2025, only 3 months after I purchased it. Vaultek was great about RMA and sent me a replacement without any issues, I sent the faulty unit back. Fast forward to October 2025 and one of my USB-C ports is now dead. For a product with this premium price tag, I just can't recommend it when these components are overlooked in quality control. Do yourself a favor and reduce points of failure by separating your charging needs and security needs. I know it looks cool, but I can't recommend it at this price point.
