Tracfone, TCL FLIP 3, SIM Card Included Flip Phone (Locked to Carrier)

I bought this flip phone because I wanted to spend less time on my smartphone, and honestly, I was surprised by how modern it felt while still making me feel like it was 2006 again. The phone can run apps, play music, take pictures, show the weather, and even browse the internet. Obviously, don’t expect smartphone-level performance, but for around $20, I was genuinely impressed by how much this little phone can do. Also, chargers somewhat quick and lasts for awhile! Sound quality and picture quality for what this phone is isn’t bad at all. It gives me exactly what I wanted: something simple that lets me disconnect from my smartphone without feeling completely cut off from everything. For $20? I would buy five of these.

Exactly what I needed for a digital detox. This phone already comes with a SIM card and I used Tracfone to activate the phone, since it's locked to them. Costs about $20 a month, not bad. Works great with internet and data connectivity. Texts and calls are great, you get unlimited from Tracfone. Very easy to operate. Battery lasts me about three days. I honestly thought it was going to be a lot clunkier to carry around, and it doesn't quite fit in a pocket but it is still pretty small appearance wise. Still very durable. Screen is great, I got some protectors just in case but I don't think I'll need it. Sound quality on my end listening to calls is great but people do say that it's a little scratchy on their end (as I expect from a flip phone).

Product is fine, TCL phone is decent for a basic flip, however the Tracfone technical support is a nightmare. I followed the on screen activation process (Tracfone.com) and after correctly entering the IMEI, the activation said pending and 2 hours later never received a phone number for the new phone. Tech support was useless, said a system error would be resolved in a few hours, of course this was after I purchased a monthly plan. They said they couldn't process my request refund for the purchased plan. So now I'm going to wait 2 hrs and see if the phone number propagates or I'm shipping the phone back to Amazon for refund as well my refund from Tracfone.

I love this telephone! I had a problem at first trying to get it activated. When I finally called the right number I got someone that helped me, wasn't in a hurry, was very, very nice, and wanted to make sure that I was happy and satisfied with their service. The phone is easy to use, the camera works fine and I get to play games on it also. I have not had anymore problems with the connectivity, the battery last a long time and I like it better than all the other expensive phones I have used in the past. I highly recommend this phone.

I got this phone for my son when he was in 4th grade and another two times since then. He’s in the 5th grade now and still uses this phone. It works well and I don’t have to worry about him having access to social media at a young age. Parental controls keeps them off the web and YouTube. Makes him use the phone as intended which is to text and call. Battery life is pretty good. Very easy to use and set up. He’s dropped the phone plenty and the screen has not cracked so it’s pretty durable. He tends to lose his phones but the price point of the phone makes replacing it no problem.

I haven't activated this phone, I use to set alarms for my husband. He has Parkinson's and takes meds for it at least 6 times daily. His meds need to be separated from meals to work effectively, so I also set alarms for meals. Also I set a few other alarms to keep our days on track. I don't know how many separate alarms can be set, but I currently have 12 alarms set. I bought the TCL Flip 3 to replace an old poorly built Iris. This phone appears to be built better than the Iris, though I won't know for sure until I drop it. After a short learning curve I find it easier to set alarms on the TCL than on the Iris. One other thing, the TCL phone has other tools, I also use the to-do list.

I bought this for my wife to carry, just incase of a emergency and I'm sure in emergencies we are concerned about where out cell phone is. This phone, and others all have to be able to call 911 even if you don't have any phone plan with them. And this is exactly what I was looking for, but so far I. Questioning the stand by battery charge. I was hoping for the battery life of a old school Nokia phone, so far this one doesn't have it. Even with wifi turned off, and no apps installed. It lasts about 1 week in-between charges.

Worked great for exactly 3 months then it died and will not recharge or turn on. Tracfone is sending me a new one because it has a one year warranty. I didn't know this and had already gone through 2 of this exact phone not knowing it had a warranty, only thinking about Amazon 30 day returns. Based on the fact that they last about 3 months I would not buy again. It is only used by mother who is in a nursing phone, it just literally sits on her dresser plugged in, she makes a few phone calls a week. Junky.
