Was bleaching hair then adding this to take out orange strip next to new root growth and add a bit of ash/platinum. Tried something different last time because bleaching was causing breakage. Used on new root growth too. It worked. This product contains hydrogen peroxide. Will not need to bleach. Hair is growing better again. So it took out orange strip AND beautifully lightened new root growth to an ash brown blonde, so it looks like root growth but lighter and a more natural match to platinum blonde. I may not need to bleach again, just continue to use this product on roots. Be careful on bleached hair this product turns it pretty dark platinum purplish if left for long. It begins lightening with each shampoo though. I've used it as a low light on bleached hair. Adds a nice platinum effect but cover what you want left bleached with conditioner or coconut oil or something and don't leave this product on long.

It did exactly what I wanted. I wanted a grayish white and I did NOT BLEACH MY HAIR FIRST. This is the before and after picture so I knew it wasn’t going to be white white, but I wanted a gray tone. If you go to PLATINUM, and put it on and leave in on for bout 10 min max you WILL get that ashy platinum blonde or “silver white” no doubt. Leave it on too long you get gray, that’s the math. I wanted the gray tone cuz I didn’t wanna bleach my hair again. I was platinum whitish before but it’s been a while and the toner faded so I put this straight on. I wanted gray. I liked it. And I got it. I highly highly recommend this stuff. Just remember, the longer you leave it on the more gray you will get. So if you want silver white, I would bleach out your head (if you can) and put this color on as a toner and rinse it out after like 10 min. It gets darker the longer you have it on. So for those people that left it on as long as they did and complained, it’s cuz they didn’t follow instructions.

Absolutely waste of $12 and my time. I'm 61 so have 40% grey hair already. I had a grey Pepe Le'Pew Silver Streak down mid-center of my hair since High School and for decades "Did you frost it like that" - yeah sure, in the 70's and 80's that's what every 20-something young single girl is made their hair look like a skunk. But at 61 yo, I thought why not, why not go all the way without dealing with the years of ugly hair in between. So I purchased this - LOL. I've dyed my hair for 30+ yrs, used to do home perms, lay out in the 70's with "Sunlight" to light our hair, etc. NEVER has anything I've tried before been such a complete fail as this way - 30 Min - Conditioner afterwards wasn't even real good (as that is normally one of the best parts of any manufacturers) - and the stains left in my white sink will take MORE time than everything combined to get = ZILCH. IF you want to try "coloring your hair" to say I've done it w/o any change then Yes, this is the one to buy.

I wanted to add my review because I really appreciated reading everyone else's thoughts on the product. I had the idea a few months ago to "go silver," and bleached out my hair. I then used the L'Oreal Smokey Silver, which turned out dark gray and blue--really pretty but really artificial looking. This Got 2 Be Silver was the color I really wanted, but I hesitated because of the bad luck people mentioned here. So I finally tried it, wanting something to work really as just a toner to transform some of my hair that looked more blond than silver. This product was it! I really appreciated that, as the color developed in the bottle, it was a pale lavender (not dark blue) and my hair came out silver (not blue) with maybe a faint hint of lavender. I think the key, as others have said, is to have bleached out hair. I don't believe this product lightens your hair. Hope this is helpful for someone else.

Don't work with my hair

I was not sure what to expect when I decided to give this a try. I had been eyeing it for a while and loved the color. I have blonde hair, but I get that nasty brassy, yellowing that I can’t stand. I had been using purple shampoo, but didn’t notice too much of a difference. This was easy to apply and it took a whole bottle of mixture (I fine hair and it’s a little bit longer then shoulder length). I left it on about 5 minutes longer then the instructions called for, since I really wanted to see a difference. After I washed it all out, I blew it dry and was happy with the results. It didn’t turn out silver or grey, but it did what I was hoping for about the yellow tone. The only negative things that I have to say about it, is it didn’t last very long and I wished for a little more of the color showing on the box. I was going to get another box and do it again to see if it added more color, but I decided to give my hair a break for a bit. So, the are pros and cons, but overall it did do what I wanted.
