Google Pixel 8 Pro 128GB Unlocked (Renewed Premium)

The Renewed Premium Google Pixel 8 Pro was outstanding when it arrived and I unboxed it. I was so nervous because I didn't know much about the Premium option and didn't believe the phone could look and operate like a brand new phone. It did...it didn't have a scratch, smear, dust, nothing....this phone is excellent and charging and working perfect. I am impressed with the shipping, the packaging and the product. These people have something going on....and it's good for those that shop on Amazon as much as I do, I appreciate this purchase and will make it known that I have the best phone I ever purchased. I've bought several 'renewed' phones on Amazon and have always had a good experience. This phone is no exception. Other than a very tiny scratch on the glass, the rest of the phone was spotless. And it functions perfectly. It came with a USB C cable but no SIM card tool, which is ok because I have several. I had no problem putting my Google Fi SIM in and getting it online. Coming from a Nord N10 this is quite an upgrade.

Screen came with a dead spot. Communication with seller stopped. Had to replace the screen at my cost. Phone functions now as expected. 1 star for the additional cost to me and the ghosting from the seller.

What a brilliant phone, even 2 years later! Excellent condition, phenomenal camera, and a brilliant screen! Easily my favourite purchase to date.

Seller was great with packaging and helpful! This is a review on the phone, not the seller. Coming from a Pixel 4 XL, there are a lot of huge upgrades to a Pixel 8 Pro, but sadly there are also some downgrades. Battery life on the 8 pro is a good amount shorter than a Pixel 4 XL. Just being idle the phone drains a LOT faster than a 4 XL, even with battery saver on. The durability and scratch resistance is about the same I think, i'm not too clumsy and always buy a day 1 screen protector and case, so nothing breaks. Phone was unlocked fully and was able to easily add my carrier on it day 1 and able to do it myself online. Fingerprint reader works just fine. Camera and video quality is great! Big issue I have when taking videos though is the auto focus. When something is too close to the camera, the auto focus keeps making the background clear and the front object blurry. Also when using video, I can't start recording instantly, I need to give the phone a minute to make what it's looking at crisp and clear. Overall, way better than my Pixel 4 XL, but lacks a good battery and video recording issues that make it a hassle.

Despite being advertised as unlocked, the product cannot be used with any other carrier aside from Verizon. It even says so as soon as you turn it on and plug in a sim. The product is carrier-locked to verizon, and remains so despite the sneaky unlocking note written by the seller who knows and is trying to intentionally sell a defective product for well above carrier-locked prices (nothing is mentioned in the listing before you actually fork over half a thousand dollars). This is BOTH a product and seller issue, and is directly relevant for this product review. The product had a small dent/scratch below the camera housing area. The product also did not include a sim tray ejector, despite being explicitly advertised to do so.

Screen quality, ease of use, ease of setup, speed and build quality

The keyboard does not function proper. In this case, even with the self correcting texting turned off, the keyboard ends up typing extra letters at the ends of words. I think it is trying to put in what it thinks is correct but does not always. My daughter has the same phone and said it does the same Camera good though.
