Excellent drone
I’ve had the Parrot Anafi a few weeks now and it is incredible, I’ve done about 30 flights and it has worked faultlessly so far. This is my first drone and I find it very easy to control, it is very stable in the air even in fairly strong winds and the camera quality is excellent, in some ways it’s better than my Nikon D3300 (a fairly recent DSLR) my only criticism is it can be a bit noisy in low light, that's image noise, not sound, one of it's biggest plus points is its very quiet as quad-copter drones go. In terms of range I find it will generally go about 1.1 km until it loses connection and automatically returns but it varies a lot depending on where you are and where the drone is going. In a built up area it will struggle to go more than a few hundred meters but in an ideal location operating on top of hill flying over countryside it is capable of going about 3 km (2 miles) away. Since the Anafi’s main competitor is the DJI Mavic Air here are the main advantages each has over the other starting with the Parrot Anafi: > Considerably cheaper (around £160 less as of May 2019). > Significantly quieter (the Anafi is one of the quietest drones on the market and the Air is really intrusively loud). > Longer flight time/battery life (5-10 minutes longer then the Mavic Air). > The propellers never get in view of the camera no matter where the camera is pointed (something which really spoils video footage on the Mavic Air and many other drones). > Ability to tilt the camera 90 degrees upwards (a feature unique to the Anafi). > Maximum of 3x digital zoom with 1.4x lossless zoom in 4K and 2.8x lossless zoom in 1080p (the Mavic 2 Zoom is the only other drone able to zoom and that is over double the cost of the Anafi). > Easy to charge, just requires a USB socket (the Mavic Air requires one of those brick power adaptors to charge so not very convenient when travelling). > A far superior 'follow me" mode with much more freedom of choice of how to position the shot. Also the Mavic Air can only track visually so when tracking the operator, if the Mavic Air looses visual tracking it will just stop. Whereas the Anafi uses visual tracking and also received the GPS location of the controller so if it looses visual tracking it still knows where the operator is so it continues to follow. The key advantages the Mavic Air has over the Parrot Anafi are: > Front and rear obstetrical avoidance sensors (not available all the time though). > A higher top speed (about 9 mph higher than the Anafi). > 3 axis gimbal stabilisation (the Anafi is advertised as having 3 axis stabilisation but one of these is done digitally rather than mechanically). > Ability to go to a much higher altitude (max. 500 meters above take off level compared to 150 meters on the Anafi, however, the maximum altitude you are legally allowed to fly at in the UK is 120 meters above ground level). > More in depth choice of settings. > Marginally more stable flight. One thing I wish I knew when I bought the Anafi is the drone battery and handset require a USB Type-C fitment to charge, a USB Type-A to Type-C is supplied with the Anafi but using that with a normal USB charging plug or USB on a computer will take a minimum of around 4.5 hours to charge the drone battery and then the handset takes a good 4 hours or so too. If you have a fairly new computer or an Android phone you may be familiar with the USB Type-C fitment but since my whole family and I are iPhone users we didn’t have any other USB Type-C cables so couldn’t charge the drone and handset at the same time so it was about 9 hours until it was ready to fly for the first time. So a couple of things I strongly recommend buying with the Anafi is a USB Type-C to Type-C cable and a USB Type-C PD (Power Delivery) charging plug, I bought one by Anker which is excellent. With a USB Type-C PD charger it takes the charge time of the drone battery from around 5 hours down to just 1 hour, 45 minutes allowing you to get in the air as soon as possible.

Wow! Just Wow!
Having had a several drones over the years - starting from a small Hubsan X4 (good) and working upto the larger (but cheap) drones , I have always been disappointed with functionality, image/camera quality and build quality - last drone with brushed motors burst into flames mid air - so you get what you pay for I suppose. I looked around at all the higher end units with gimble mounts for GP cams etc and settled on the ANAFI with the built in 4K cam and gimble. I am so glad I did. The Parrot ANAFI has blown me away with all the functionality, build quality, stable flying and especially the 4K image quality for Vids and stills. At this price point its a great drone for the flyer who wants to take it to the next level. I have only flown it several times since purchase due to the winter weather, however I took it out again this weekend in some blustery breezes and it handled itself really well, video footage was steady and smooth due to the excellent gimble. Again even in the wind the GPS and Return to Home function got it bang on above the mini helipad mat it took off from. Some great features on the phone app for some cheeky panorams, funky spirals etc are nice, plus you have Tortoise and Hare modes if you want to rip it up a bit, in fact the FreeFlight 6 app is a credit to Parrot. Other great features are the battery and flight times - I get a good 25 mins from each battery (worth getting the additional battery) and they have good discharge, safety and sleep function if the Drone is unused after 10 days. The Controller unit is slick, easy to use and feels like an Xbox one controller - so very familiar :) and has all the main camera functions, RTH etc as buttons, so you do not have to use the touch phone screen too much. One of the controller on board levers allow the gimble/cam to move to a straight up or straight down position, which is awesome for great videos and the follow me functions. The fact it is has the fold-able prop arms and so compact is great (3rd party ANAFI equipment cases are abundant ) it can travel with me to far flung places. Absolutely love this drone, and at the current price point its a great buy.

Almost perfect... But...
Good points.. Light Portable Stable Decent camera Decent flight time Bad points Flew off on two occasions. Once on start up and once while attempting to hand land it. Android app was updated rendering the drone useless with no video feed. Apparently this situation has been resolved now but I was left with an expensive paper weight for over two weeks with little to no feedback from the company. This drone was so close to being perfect but a few hiccups and very poor communication from the manufacturer led to it being returned. Maybe sometime in the future when everything is stable I may try it again..

Very light & portable good camera with great flight stability & app is packed full of features.
Small compact design but a very capable quad that holds its height & position well even in windy conditions. Good quality 21 megapixel camera with 4K video & x3 zoom. Great app full of functional features with good flight times It's only weakness is range in urban conditions due to external WiFi interference. Make sure you have correct lead that fits your phone only comes with USB to C lead which is fine for charging but for flying you will need appropriate lead for your phone brand.

Very impressed.
I did quite a bit of research before buying between this and the DJI Pro 2 and DJI Zoom, which are both almost twice the price of the Anafi. I'm no pro film maker and just couldn't justify spending the extra on either of the DJIs and, having had it for a few weeks now, I'm very glad I didn't as the Anafi is superb and more than what I need. It doesn't have the range of the DJI but then with current / impending laws governing flying within visual sight, the ability to fly the DJI 8km away seems somewhat redundant - I think the Anafi will travel about 2.5Km, subject to finding a low interference area. The zoom feature is very useful and the Aanafi camera swing enables the camera to look directly upwards, which neither of the DJI's can do. Pictures and video with the 20MB camera are great and, unless you're a filmmaker, are easily a match for the DJI. It doesn't have avoidance sensors fitted other than a ground sensor to stop you dropping it straight into the ground. It gets to about 500mm from ground level and then stays there until you hit 'land' button. Accordingly, you have to exercise some skill in flying it, which kind of adds to the fun. It does have 'hand launch' / 'hand landing' abilities which allows you to let it take off from your hand rather than the ground if your on uneven ground or perhaps in in a boat. The software doesn't include 'follow me' function, which is a paid for add-on if you want it. At the time I bought the drone, this was £0.99, which was a minor extra cost, although this may have been a sale price. Battery life is great at about 25mins per full charge battery. That said, you'd want to get at least one spare battery as the batteries do take a couple of hours to fully charge, which can be a pain. Batteries are light in weight and very expensive - £90 Software and flight is pretty intuitive after a couple of practice sessions in the garden. It is also pretty sturdy and will take a few visits into the hedge followed by a crash landing when one of the legs folded inwards. Turn it off and on again and you're all set to go again. Props look very flimsy but they're really not and are pretty impressively durable - my old GoPro karma drone props would shear off at the sight of a hedge branch. The drone packs up very neatly into a large sunglasses case, albeit that the hand controller doesn't come with a carry case - the drone itself only weights 1/3 kilo whereas the DJIs are almost 3 tiles as heavy. All in all, very pleased with my purchase and possibly should have gone for the extended pack as this came with 2 extra batteries plus the carry case for the drone, controller, spare batteries and spare props / cables.

My first drone and I am not disappointed, its absolutely fantastic
Okay first things first, the overlay on the video is not proved out of the box with the anafi, but it does look great. There are tutorials on youtube on how to get it working. Well, this is my very first every drone. It took me a while to decide on getting this, but I am not disappointed. To fully enjoy this beast, you will need to download the free-flight app from the app store or google play store (its free). you can fly without it but you will be missing out on so much functionality. There is no manual with the drone and you only really realise what this drone is capable of by going through EVERYTHING on the app. I can not compare this to any other drone as this is my first, but this drone is epic. The battery lasts approx 21 minutes although I am yet to run it all the way down to 0%. The cameraman and follow me modes are fantastic. there are 2 modes that require an "in app purchase" there is lots of noise about this online but they only cost 0.99p and apps do cost money to develop, nether the less they are definable worth it. I do have a gripe and this is the cost of a spare battery which costs a ridiculous £89. The drone and controller is charged by USB-c and is compatible with power chargers, the anafi only comes with 1 cable which is a bit cheeky of anafi. I got this drone as I want to get into photography and filming. the drone films in full 4k at 30 and 24 frames per second AND shoot in HDR, has lossless zoom I find the drone extremely stable. It might be a bit much for a beginner, but its quite easy to get used to. The camera, takes RAW photos and shoots at 21 megapixels, can take full 360 sphere photos and vertical and horizontal panoramas. The camerea moves up and down 180 degrees, which It does not come pre geo fenced but you can set the geo fence parameters in the options (you cant fly higher than 400 ft in the UK, without special permission) The drone sounds like a load of bees and is quite high pitched, although I've read online this is one of the more quitter drones out there. Now I have this drone there is no looking back

Known problems - as said by parrot
Photo quality was great however the GPS never connected so safety features like return to home wouldn’t work. After contacting parrot it seems this is a very common issue with these drones and I didn’t have time to replace to see if the next one had the issue or not so I had to refund it.

RAPPORTO QUALITA'-PREZZO IMBATTIBILE
A vostro rischio e pericolo!!!
