I have read a previous work and i am reading this one. Her words are so powerful and important. I just started to understand what happened to me and she helps me so much to understand my feelings. I have been writing poems for a long time and those books make me feel like my work could really help me and other people to heal. I think it could be also incredible for people who have people around them with trauma to read her work, to help them to understand how it feels. I recommended the books to my own therapist to be honest. Congrats Rose Brik, you are a strong person and you help people. Person who reads this, you are strong, i believe you and i am sure one day you’ll find a peace 🧡

If you have a story to tell about your childhood (a deep story...those who have walked in the dark know what I'm talking about) you must read this. I've enjoyed Rose's work so much in this book. She gets very real, very raw, and so open and vulnerable with her readers that you feel an automatic connection to the book. I grew up with a mom who took off on me before I can remember to feed her addiction, recently passed away and still dealing with those emotions and thoughts. My father was left to raise me alone. Just me and him and he was not even 30 years old at thw time. I looked for love in the wrong ways and only pray to break as much of a cycle as possible so my daughter doesn't have to do the work I've done. This book is more than a book to me it's a story I needed to find.

Very relatable. Love her books!! Finished this one in 1 day.

Help others heal internally

Let me start by saying that I typically do not dog-ear or mark books, but I did this one! Almost every page spoke to me in some way. I am going through a healing journey, and the writing in this book was so poignant, relatable, and relevant to me. It had me sobbing at times, but it truly helped me process a lot of buried emotions.

I love this book ! So insightful. I bought her other book "My father eyes, My mother's rage" and i feel like Inherited Hunger is an extension of that. These books can make you cry, laugh and feel all the feelings you never rthough you could from a book. The words hut the heart. It also can bring back fond memories you might have forgotten and feeling you forgot to had. I had bought this book about 5 months prior to my other dying unexpectedly. She wasn't very old either...so it was a shock to everyone. I wasn't actually speaking to my mother for about 7 months before she passed. This book, sincerely with all my heart, helped me get through the anger I still felt, the resentment i felt and finally trying to heal all the trauma. I thank the author for a book that is such a blessing. I recommend it to anyone. It's an amazing read and especially those daughters out there, whom need comfort, a place to understand your rage and hurt and every other emotion.

A very deep book if you want to work on yourself, overcome your past and understand your life. Tough to digest at times but so helpful. I am thankful beyond words that I finally get to understand where my struggles come from. I also recommend her other book, My mother's rage, my father's eyes
