Consider ordering a half size larger
Awesome boots! Seems pretty comfortable so far and the leather is heavy and durable. I originally ordered my usual size (7.5) and found them to be way too small; very tight with light socks. I re-ordered a size 8 and its a perfect fit. I have other DV shoes in 7.5 and they are a little big, so I was surprised when the (original order) size 7.5 was too small. Boots are super cute, appear to be well made and should last a long time. I'm a huge fan of DV shoes, and this pair is a for-sure keeper!

Just started wearing
So far I really like the boots and have gotten compliments from strangers, however, I've only worn them about 2 times so I can't attest to how long they will last. The boots are very cute and pretty comfortable, which is why I wanted them. They are leather so right now they are still a little stiff, but I know with time they'll get better and better. They are pretty true to size, I am between 9 1/2 and 10 and I got the 10 so I'd have room for multiple pairs of socks in the winter. They seem like they will hold up and last awhile (I plan on treating the leather every so often to keep it protected and waterproof in the winter), but I gave 4 stars because I don't know for sure that they will.

Zipper broke after a few wears
The zipper broke after only a few wears. The boots are cute, but after Shoes.com sent me the wrong boots, then Amazon sent me the wrong size, I took the broken zipper as an omen that these boots and I were not meant to be!

Ok boot with some cheesy details
I have mixed feelings about this boot but feel that they worth the hugely discounted price that I paid. First, most of what has already been said is true. They are made of thick, stiff leather that is matte and scratches easily. Just handling them before wear produced scratches and there were some already there, probably just from boxing them. The less than supple leather has no sheen and doesn't even look like leather at all honestly. They really do look like synthetic material which is such a shame .These have a very rugged, juvenile look to which is very different than my Sak booties, also purchased here, even though the styling is somewhat similar. I don't like the zippers at all and especially not the bright brass. It looks cheap. Hate the "white wash" paint on the heels. I'll probably use a sharpie over that. Wish I could paint the zippers somehow. I also hate that there is no separate tongue. Also the back of the boot in the heel extends past the shaft for an almost A shaped boot. It's not the most comfortable but please keep in mind that I just received mine. They are a tad narrow but not as narrow as my Sak boots. They are quite a bit snug but I have a stretcher that can work miracles. I wouldn't say go a full half size up unless you are like me and can go between a couple of sizes. I wear a 6.5, sometimes a 7 and occasionally a 6 ( usually in flats or laceless boots). I got the 6.5 and am convinces with a stretch in width, they'll be perfect as I have decent length.I use conditioner hoping that it will minimize the scratches and scuff and give them less of a rubberized look. They are definitely not colorfast as black dye started coming off on the cloth immediately. Heed this as a warning that they may or may not bleed of lighter color jeans and pants- especially if they get moist or wet. What I do like about the boot is that I feel that it will take some abuse. I'm constantly guarding my expensive leather boots as I scared to wear them out in bad weather or that they'll get dirty or stained. I feel like these will wipe off well. And because of the thickness of the leather, I doubt that they will crease and wear out quickly.I think for what I paid, I can learn to appreciate them. But honestly, I probably wouldn't have purchased them if I'd seen them in person. They aren't my style though and maybe they are just what you are looking for.

Love these boots!
Read all the reviews and decided to take a chance. I got these on sale for a great price and I"m really happy with them! I have several pairs of Dolce Vita boots, and have found that in general they run a little small, so I sized up half a size from my normal and they fit very well. The other reviews are right that the leather is pretty stiff initially, but even after one wear it started to break in some so I plan to use some leather conditioner to help that along. Overall they are comfy and stylish, love them!

combat style boots
I love the boots, just my style and the leather should last a good while. They came quicker than I thought and I was super happy. Size 6 is what I usually wear and the fit was fine, very comfortable after wearing a few days. I wanted brown and love the buckles and zippers you can adjust to fit leggings inside the boot. I had some very comfortable boots from Kohls but they are peeling already, not leather.

Mine look nothing like this image...
I first saw these on a super high-end clothing store's website for almost twice the price. I was drawn because of the darker-than-usual brown tone of the boot. But, while this boot fits just fine (I wear a 7.5, and ordered a 7.5 which is perfect), the look of it is leaving me tonight thinking I very well am likely to return it. Not only does the material look REALLY cheap and like dull rubber...there is NO distressing or "character" to the appearance. It is just a dull, flat, monotone strange shade of brown. I am extremely sad that such a darling boot online looks so lousy in real life. I am actually VERY surprised the place where I first saw it would even sell something this inferior. I realize this boot only cost me about $68, but I've gotten better on sale at the mall in years past. I guess buying online just isn't for me. Also, the laces with this boot are really odd. They are coated in something that looks "off" and feels super strange. I cannot at all recommend this boot. :( EDIT ON DECEMBER 3 2013 ***Wore these ONCE and the next time I zipped them up, the zipper fell apart in my hands!!! I was at a doctor appointment and had to walk around with a shredded zipper/ loose boot for hours like a complete idiot. BUYER BEWARE: My first estimate of appearance = lousy quality was absolutely correct***
