Okatsune103 Bypass Pruners General Purpose Medium (One Pack)

I debated between these and the Felco for a long time but went with these and I'm so glad I did. I was mostly concerned about the latching mechanism on these being difficult to use but it's actually great, much easier than the thumb latch and very robust. These feel great in hand, are the perfect size for what I need, cut great and make a very satisfying sound!!Honestly I go searching for more things to prune just to use them!! I will say that it's not stainless steel so it does rust, even though I usually wipe them off and I even oiled them over the winter. All in all these are a great pruner at a fair price and I would definitely buy them again (although I don't think I'll have to as this pair seems like it will last for quite a while!).

Great pruners. Very sharp. The feel of the pruner is quite different from a felco style. These are narrower than my felcos and are loser in the pruner sheath. I like them. They are my go-to.

I have never been disappointed by Okatsune gardening tools. They arrive sharp and stay sharp. They are easy to use and lock when in closed position. The handles are colored so that if you drop them in the grass you will find them easily. The price is excellent for these excellent bypass pruners. I would add some WD 40 solvent spray onto the blades when you are done using so they do not rust and keep their professional edges sharp. Arrived quickly via Prime.

I love this Japanese pruner. The previous pruner I had finally chipped/broker after 30 years of service use. I wish it came with a clip on belt holster but the pruner itself is great. It's razor sharp and easily cuts/prunes grape vines and fruit tree branches with ease. So much better than the American made pruners in terms of durability, razor-edge sharpness, and ergonomic ease of use. I hope it lasts a long time. It's an investment well made.

A really great pruners in term of sharpness and its ability to cut cleanly. A couple issues I found, this is supposed to be the medium size okatsune secateurs, and yet I found my grip is not wide enough to hold the fully opened arms. I am a women with wide palm and long fingers (e.g. I use large washing gloves) but I still find these secateurs difficult to hold at its biggest opening which makes it difficult to cut the thicker branch even though they are capable for it from the point of sharpness. Due to this limitation, I had nipped a little skin on the back mechanism part. I find myself being extra careful using them compared to other secateurs I have. As they are very sharp, it is easy to keep snipping fast from one branch to the next resulting in small injury. The second issue is after its first use I left the secateurs without cleaning it which I do with other secateurs from time to time and it develop rust already. come on.... after 1 use?! It is hugely disappointing. Other than that, I have enjoyed doing cleaning up the garden with them.

These look like they will work very well for me.
