So, I've just recently gotten into the RC car hobby. So this is my first real RC car purchase. I'm going to start with the cons because they're so few. The first con the cars listed as a 1/8 scale however actual size is about a good 1/10 scale car. The second con is that the differentials need better lubrication and thicker fluid to be more effective. Which leads me to the third con which is that the screws for this car are all Phillips head screws and they use a small 2.5 mm Phillips head I believe. While most of the screws are easy to remove when it comes to the differential especially the center differential very extremely difficult you have to heat the metal differential case with either a heat gun or a small torch and use a hammer to hammer the screwdriver into the screw to help break the red lock that they use but once you get them loose you can get right into the differential cases. Then again with the differentials themselves they have kind of screws or Phillips head and you have to be extremely careful and the slow and patient to get the screws loose once you get them open though the differentials are made of solid metal they are really well built and personally I used a silicone earplug to cram in the middle differential to center differential and basically lock it up. The front I didn't really change anything in the rear I added just a little bit of the earplug to give it some protection and to make it a little bit stiffer Don't overdo it it's easy to do. And that's about all the cons I have. Okay the last time is ready is a 3S battery 2600 mah it goes really fast and it uses a special size battery which has been extremely difficult for me to find in a decent milliamp hour battery but it will take a 4S lipo and you can raise the body so if you have to use a 4S lipo you can use a full size LiPo and just strap it to the center brace. Now for the positives. This car is extremely well built!! I have bashed this car off of ramps 20-30 ft in the air I have smacked it into walls I am a terrible driver but this thing has taken every bit of the abuse. It took some time it took some effort it actually took me going into it a couple of times taking it apart and getting frustrated putting it back together and taking it back apart and eventually getting it to the point where I was able to get into the differentials and I was able to put grief and earplugs and other things in the differentials to get them to work better and subsequently made it a lot more fun to drive even though it was a ton of fun beforehand it's even more fun now. It's got great speed and that's on a 3S battery it will actually hold a 4S battery just fine I haven't gotten one yet but I'm working on that. The car looks mean and tough as hell it's got great tires with great grip they're a little bit soft so they do balloon because of the speed a little bit but not so bad that it's uncontrollable. So overall the car is at 9 out of 10 for me I would give it a 10 out of 10 if it was the right size but it is a good size for a 1/10 scale. But the best part of all has been my experience with customer service and the team of customer service agents that are at Hosim. As I stated earlier it is difficult to get into different parts of the car especially if you are new and have never taken apart or built an RC car before and so as I was getting into a couple of different areas unfortunately I stripped the Phillips head off of one of the screws and I ended up having to use a drill bit extractor kit to remove one of the screws in the center differential case and then even had the same problem with one of the differentials itself and when I reached out to customer service and the warranty department they were extremely helpful they gave me tips on how to get into things better which did help me and is why I ultimately was able to get into them all the way. they also asked me what I needed and they were willing to replace any piece and every piece that I said was needing to be replaced even though I'm the one that messed it up trying to get into it. ultimately I only had them replace one front differential and the front two lower control arms seemed to be a little bit loose for me which caused my drive shaft on the driver side to pop out when I hit a small bump smaller bump. But I didn't feel like that was something that was even enough to take away a star from this car because it probably just needed to be tightened up but Even knowing that customer service offered to replace both lower control arms as well as the front differential and anything else I want to replace I'm not greedy so I only had them replace what I really truly think needed replaced under warranty anything else I will handle myself. So overall my customer service experience has been a 10 out of 10 I would recommend this car to anybody new to the hobby or even someone who's been in the hobby for quite some time looking for a good cheap car to bash and have a good time with at the price of this car you absolutely cannot beat them quality the customer service experience and the amount of fun that you'll have thanks to Hosim for making my debut into the RC car hobby world a fantastic experience I plan on getting the other two cars in this line I believe one is called the veccaro and one is called the venom but one is red one is green I think they have pretty much the same internal components that the X25 has. If you're on the fence and you're wondering if you should pull the trigger and spend the money think no more get your wallet out and get one of these bad boys ordered and bash!!!!

I LOVE this little car. I had all sorts of 1/10 scale RC's in the 80's and 90's. The hornet, frog, cat, RC10, YZ10, boomerang, etc. This thing is ready to run out of the box and surprisingly resilient against normal bumps and flips. I've run about 10 full charges on it so far and the only issue was a loose nut caused a wheel to come off. Easy fix, just re-installed and tightened it. Holding up well so far. Surprisingly fast, so I'm happy it has a lower speed switch for tooling around our small back yard. Fun to chase the kids and terrorize (er, play) with the dogs. I purchased a few extra larger capacity batteries and while they don't fit with the battery cover on, I just velcro strap them in place and now I can get about 20-30 minutes runtime on the lower speed. The only con from a build perspective is that the shocks are just springs on fake dampers (no oil). So, if's pretty bouncy. But the huge tires help with stability and it's very difficult to flip. If I destroy it, I'll definitely buy another. UPDATE 9/2019: Brought the truck out to a long KOA camping adventure and ran the heck out of it on the trails and dirt roads. Rock crawling at slow speeds, high speed trail runs, donuts, obstacle courses, etc. We let the little ones bang it around a bit too. Still no problems! Unbelievable how long this little truck has lived, considering how much I spent on R/C's back in the 80's and 90's and they would breakdown all the time!

I'm one of those people who will spend hours reading others reviews and still has a hard time making the final purchase decision. I wanted an RC truck for my son for his 7th birthday. I've tried some drones with him and all have been disappointments, so I wanted something he could drive and use without help, which would actually work. I ordered this truck even though it had a few negative reviews. It arrived and the first thing I noticed was the very light / flimsy body. I was expecting something a little heavier duty. I quickly figured out the reason behind this is you have to remove the body to change the battery. Under the body the frame is sturdy and the suspension works well. My son loved this right out of the box. He got it at night so drove it all over the house crashing into everything while he learned to control it. The next day we took it outside where we built jumps and mud holes to drive it through. The truck is very fast so takes a little getting used to driving, but did great. We have also driven it wide open across open fields and climbed dirt mounds, all which it did well. So after a week of 7 year olds use, here are my observations. Be sure to order the extra hood pin package. The ones that came with it popped out quickly. The ones from the extra package hold better, but you will still lose some if you crash much. Buy extra batteries. I purchased one extra but should have gotten 2. They only last 10-12 minutes each and are slow to recharge. They are also very difficult to plug and unplug, but stay in place once you get them in. I did reach out to the company to make sure I was ordering the correct second battery and they were very prompt with their response. I would have actually given the truck 5 stars if the body was a little sturdier and the battery easier to change.

UPDATE: I'm changing my star rating to the deserved 5 stars. My first truck had some issues (read "Recommendations" section below), but the replacement works just fine. I'm changing my review rating to the deserved 5 stars now that I know this car works great. When I first got this RC I charged the battery to max. It ran for 20 minutes. And those minutes were glorious! The truck is fantastic! It's extremely fun on pavement, grass, dirt, wood chips (my favorite). It's super fast and has incredible torque. I got a few battery replacements, so I can spend hours at a time with the truck. I've spent several afternoons driving it around various parks and various terrains. It's a fun truck. One of the coolest things this can do is your go full speed, let go of the acceleration, turn completely to the left (or right) and allow it to skid stop. It's crazy how it can go 30 mph and skid stop like this. Caution ... when first driving it out at full speed, it might flip because the torque is so powerful. My girls (ages 2 & 3) enjoy chasing the RC truck around. I will drive up to them slowly and then turn the wheels left to right (I told them that was the car saying hello). They love this little thing. Recommendations: - If your car acts a little weird (my first one did) contact the seller and get a replacement. My first truck was going full speed reverse due to a faulty remote. My new truck is fantastic. - Get replacement batteries (it will fit up to 2000mAh batteries which last ~25 minutes). Totally worth it. - Get a storage bin from an office supply store to put your truck in. Mine is 18"L x 14 1/4"W x 10 7/8"H. So much nicer than the box it comes in.

This truck is awsome, lots of fun, VERY fast (almost too fast). The biggest plus, if you're mechanically inclined, you can order replacement parts if you break something, but recommend buying off of Amazon. But if you cant get it there, you can get it off Hosim's website... A+++++

*UPDATE* I've had the car for a few months now, and I can report that durability of the body has improved as the weather has warmed up. But, I've lowered my star rating due to a new issue, which is excessive cogging and stuttering of the drivetrain when getting on and off throttle (check the video, and turn up your volume to hear what the drivetrain is doing). It seems like the ESC is not able to deliver power smoothly to the motor, and also that the motor pinion that was used is designed to hit a top speed, but at the sacrifice of smooth lower speed control, as well as protecting fragile drivetrain components. The result is a difficult to drive car, and one that will likely cause further damage to the drivetrain due to the aggressive stuttering that is repeatedly shockloading all of the drivetrain. I was in a lengthy email exchange with the company, and they have insisted that the car is operating normally, and the cogging/stuttering i've experienced is normal. Well, I have cars from HBX and RLAARLO, with brushless systems, and they are significantly higher quality and smoother than this car, so I would 100% recommend going to one of them. Even though this car claims that it is a 1/8 scale, it is actually a 1/10, so find an equivalent 1/10 scale basher and you'll be very happy. Additionally, the car is not really upgradeable without replacing pretty much everything. Also the entire car is put together with Phillips hardware, which is extremely difficult to remove without stripping, due to the excessive amount of loctite they use. The ESC is a ESC/Receiver combo, so you need a new transmitter if you want to replace the ESC. Additionally, the motor mount is proprietary, and you cannot change the pinion gear, because the motor mount is not adjustable, so that's difficult to change as well. While this is fine if the stock hardware was good, it unfortunately is not, and well need to be replaced to make the car operate to the level of which it costs. My suggestion would be to look into options with Haiboxing, Rlaarlo, or MJX. *Original Review* This car has so much potential (actually it doesn't), great motor, center diff, etc. It's just let down by being so fragile. I don't beat on it hard, but one minor bump into a wall shattered the front bumper, and a small side to side rollover snapped the lower arm differential housing mount. I've only had it for a month and I've had to order a new front bumper, and rear differential upper housing. And that's with gentle use. Additionally, the center differential is way too loose, and stops you from putting the power down. Essentially it acts front wheel drive, and when the weight comes off of the front axle under acceleration, all of the power goes there, and balloons the front tires like crazy. To the point where the tires hit the body. It also means you just can't put the power down, look up any YouTube video and you'll hear the skipping that the front tires are doing as they nene the least amount of weight on them, and get the most power due to the loose center differential. I would love to show a video of the issues, but the car is partially disassembled waiting for that new diff housing. I think eventually I'll have a good car, but it'll take a lot of work and I'll always be a little nervous about it (update, this will never be as good as other options in this price range).

Great car that handles well at high speeds. Unfortunately, the gears and not made of very good material. I bought two of these exact same cars and use one for spare parts. I only use the stock battery and do not even turn the speed all of the way up and the main drive parts keep breaking. I have had to replace TWO of the NEW SPECIAL heloc rear end differentials, one transmission, one motor gear, and one bent drive shaft. All of this at the park with my kids in an open flat field. NO reason that with a stock battery that the car came with and not turned all of the way up on the speed should those parts be stripping out and breaking. It is as if the metal cannot handle the torc of the motor. I still give it three stars because I have owned a lot of cars and this one with new parts handles amazing compared to the smaller scale cars at top speed. I also thought maybe I just got a bad car out of a bunch of good one which is why I bought a second one. BUT NO, the same thing happened but more complex and expensive parts busted with the second one. After all of this I should have just bought the cheaper ones that I bought my kids that go just as fast but do not handle as well. At least neither of them I broken any serious parts and they run theirs into everything and almost never break. My advice is if you by this brand stick to the 1/10 size and smaller.

**I POSTED THIS REVIEW WITH PICTURES FOR A 7 I PURCHASED ON JUNE 3rd 2025** **THE HOSIM VEXARO X27 AMAZON IS SELLING IS A UPGRADED NEW HOSIM VEXARO X27** The old version uses a receiver and 85amp ESC combo unit. and The receiver and Esc are now two separate units on the upgraded X27 I also noticed that the Upgraded X27 uses a 80amp Esc where as the old X27 uses a 85amp Esc. The Upgraded X27 tires and rims are different from the old version not sure if there is a size difference between the old and new version. The old and new versions use the same brushless motor according to the specs I saw. The upgraded X27 batteries that come with it have been upgraded to 30c 11.1v 2600mah The old version comes with 25c 11.1v 2600mah batteries. There are many more upgrades i didn't list. My advice would be to read and compare the specs on the hosim website. My son and I own several Rc Trucks in that are in the same price range as the Hosim X27. And we both agree the X27 is our new favorite. This truck has tons of features that other trucks in the same price range just do not have. The front and back tie rods are made of metal and are fully adjustable. The steering link arms are also made of metal and adjustable. This Truck also comes with some pretty decent shocks They are oil filled and are adjustable. The 3660 Brushless motor and the 85A ESC give this truck the ability to outrun and out maneuver the competition over any terrain. The drive train has a front center and rear differential which make it a true 4 wheel drive. The metal plate chassis and metal reinforced drive train covers make this truck extra durable The Hosim customer service department is one of the most helpful and friendly service departments I have ever talked to.

Bought this for my son for Christmas, affordable RC car that is quick and lasts a reasonable amount of time. We love that we can turn the speed down for him to play without it going to fast and breaking on impact when he crashes it. Spare parts are a little on the expensive side, but haven't had to buy any yet! Considering getting a second one myself so we can race them!

• ►►Pros:◄◄ • This is my first RC car I've had since I was a child, and I have had an absolute blast driving and playing around with it. It is fast (~40-45km/h on pavement, maybe 30-35km/h on short grass, and 20-25km/h on wet grass), and very agile. My dog absolutely loves to chase it around and I'm having a great time modifying it and taking it apart. It runs for a solid 15-20 minutes on the stock battery, but can go much longer if you get larger batteries for it. It takes 45 degree hills with ease and spins around in sandy conditions like a monster truck should. • ►►Cons:◄◄ • It is a little too fast for its own good some of the time. If you're going full speed and you crank the steering to either side, you're likely to flip this thing over on it's back. That said it's easy to get used to how to handle it after some practice.... I recommend new buyers start off at the "L" speed setting (half speed) and get a hang of how she performs before you throw it into "H". The shock absorbers are plastic, which is the primary complaint I read about before buying.. and I agree, they should probably be metal, but they're not too hard to replace (the front ones at least). The battery compartment is small, but there's lots of room under the shell to strap a larger battery to the top of the chassis. • ►► What’s In The Box? ◄◄ • 1 1:10 size RC Truck, Ready to Drive, with a 1800mAh battery within (disconnected, you need to open it up to plug it in before driving) 1 2.4ghz remote control 1 Tire wrench (I use it every couple times I take it out just to ensure the tires are securely on there) 4 extra pins to hold the shell on 1 USB 1000mA balanced charger • ►► Hardware Impressions ◄◄ • So this is my first RC car, and though I think it's a really great value, there are some things it leaves to be desired, especially if you're looking at getting into the RC hobby more seriously. Many of the components are plastic (shock absorbers, the arms that hold the wheels to the body, the towers that the shock absorbers attach to and the outer shell clip into... most of these aren't a big deal, but if you're rough on this car and plan to be taking it off jumps and smashing into things, you're going to have to replace some parts. That said... for the price ($139 currently), I'm very happy with the quality you receive and what this car can do. I've taken it out at least a dozen times, many of those with my dog, and it continues to exceed my expectations. I've replaced the front shocks with aluminum oil-filled shocks I purchased and they were very simple to swap out. The rear shocks are a little trickier as there is no screw on the bottom connection of the shock, they just snap on. Depending on the shock you replace them with you need to ensure you can snap the replacements onto this connection, or drill a hole to secure them. Personally I'm happy just replacing the front shocks.. I did this so I could hold 3000-5500mAh batteries to the frame and still have the front springs keep the car up.. if I put a large battery on there with the stock shock absorbers, the shocks fully compress and you lose all the suspension. Replacement parts seem readily available via Amazon, so if anything breaks I'm confident I can get a replacement part to get me rolling again. • ►► Final Thoughts ◄◄ • For the price of this RC car and the performance you get out of it, I would recommend this to friends as an entry level RC car for those interested in the hobby but don't want to spend $300+ for a first car. It's a lot of fun with my dog, and otherwise just a great time to take out and mess around at parks, fields, skate parks, and just general residential areas (be careful of traffic! my street is rather quiet and I can see them coming from a long way away). **EDIT:** I added a photo of what the engine compartment looked like after I drove it through a grassy field after some rain. You probably don't want to do this, it's a bit of a pain (but a fun challenge!) to get in there to clean it out.
