Wrong Parts & Disreputable Service
My vacuum arrived yesterday. Overall, itโs everything I need and expected. I put it to work cleaning out a mini cargo van that hadn't been cleaned for years. Here's what I liked: 1. It was super easy to assemble. It took 5 minutes. Just slide the wheels onto the bottom and put one screw in each. Then position the accessory pouch brackets on each side and put two screws in each. Done! Didnโt even need to read the directions. 2. It did a good job cleaning, has good suction, and even gobbled up tree nuts, nitrile gloves, napkins, a bottle cap, and other 'junk' that was stuck under the seats. 3. I love the pouch to hold the accessories. Huge plus to be able to store all the accessories right on the vacuum all in one place. I even tucked the manual and vacuum bag in there. 4. It's very easy to maneuver and seems durable. It got bumped around and I dropped the lid as I was getting used to the weight distribution... no damages! 5. It was easy to wash the filter. It looks like an air filter but, it is a plastic like material. I was easy to hose off and leave out to dry. It does take a day or so to dry like the instructions suggest. The water drops need time to evaporate from the folds. The blower might help dry it faster if one is in a hurry. 6. It was not loud as I expected. It was the same volume as any household vacuum. 7. The cord length is decent. It didnโt quite go all the way around the van from my outlet, so I had to get the extension cord out. It is a decent length cord for most shop work or wet vac work. A few minor things I wish were better: 1. I'd prefer if the hose were a bit longer or could be extended. It's about 6' long. 2. Iโd like a narrower attachment to get in the tiny spaces and crevasses under and between the seats. The car attachment is good for most cleaning, but I couldnโt fit it between the seats and center console to get everything. I had to do the best I could pushing it deep under the seats. It would be cool if there were an adapter to attach to narrow the hose and a small attachment for the end for this purpose. 3. After about an hour I noticed it was starting to get hot, so I let it cool down a few minutes and then finished up quickly. For most uses this would not be an issue. Iโm pleasantly surprised it didnโt overheat with an hour of continuous use. Itโs really a solid product. 4. Iโd almost prefer it were a bit narrower and taller rather that shorter and wider if that didnโt create stability issues. The reason being it would be easier to store. This is too valuable of a tool either way so Iโll find a corner to store it. Overall, I'm glad I purchased it. I enjoy knowing I can regularly clean the cargo van out now. I hated doing it at the gas station vacuums in the past due to the hassles with the quarters, others always impatiently waiting, concerns over cleanliness of the vacuums and what others might have used them to clean, needing to empty the van in public, having to move the van several times to reach all areas, being in a hot and muggy climate, and the overall hassle of doing it at a gas station. It was exhausting. Bottom line, if I cleaned the van out monthly at the gas station at 5 minutes for $2, it would cost $25 for an hour. This wet/dry vac pays for itself in 4 months and has many more uses without and no hassles of cleaning a van at the gas station. It was a complete pleasure cleaning the van at home. I parked under the carport and waiting for the sun to start setting so it was cooler. I spent an hour before the sun set working on it and done! I was able to leave tools and cargo out in the yard to dry overnight without worry and put them back in the morning. The real reason I purchased this was as a wet vac to gobble up the water from occasional floods. I have yet to try it out as a wet vac. I will post an update when I do. Donโt think about it. Just buy one! UPDATE: It turns out that I received a round brush tool instead of the crevice tool. The crevice tool is both listed and pictured on the Amazon listing, the manual lists the crevice tool as being included, and the manual and product label have the same product number. Contacted both the seller and the manufacturer and at first got the run around. Since then, I was able to resolve the issue with the missing crevice tool to my satisfaction. All is good now and I'm happy with the purchase.

Very Quiet
I had an old Craftsman 16 gallon shop vac. The top never stayed on well and it was a pain to move around, big and bulky and horrendously noisy. I was going to resurface my terrazzo floors and needed a quieter vac that would be able to suck up the excess water off the floor. This one definitely had the ability to raise a good bit of water up and off the floor. And it makes a fraction of the noise that my old Craftsman did. It's also just enough more compact that it's easier to move around and store. As far as CFM, it doesn't quite compete as well, but I was looking for water lift for this particular job. I also planned to use it around the house/garage. I am using a bag, so I suspect that reduces the CFM, but it cuts down on the dust that gets pumped out the exhaust and makes the big filter last longer too. It certainly has plenty of CFM for my other general 'around the garage' needs. I do woodworking and some boat building for fun and this vac is perfect for that too. I also like the extra long power cord. The hose is fairly flimsy and cheap (some of the DeWalts have the yellow hose and they are much studier). I bought a Rigid 10 ft hose from HD and also got an extra extension tube. Very happy with the upgrade. My old Craftsman didn't have a storage bag and the one of the DeWalt is very convenient and keeps everything in one spot. Very happy with the upgrade.

Absolutely love this thing
I previously purchased a wet/dry vac from the company whose name is basically synonymous with the tool... it broke just after the warranty expired. My general policy with tools is that if I break one, spring for a quality model. I bought the DXV10P and have not been disappointed. The build quality on this thing is outstanding compared to the previous junk I had. All of the parts are heavy duty ABS plastic and fit together with no gaps, rattles, or play. The on/off rocker switch is enormous and easy to hit with the tip of the hose when it's out of your reach. The hose has a security clamp anchoring it to the vacuum. The unit rolls on heavy duty swivel casters that spin and rotate smoothly without binding. The cord is long enough that you don't need an extension for use around the house. The body has a strap for the hose and a carrying handle that is more than capable of supporting the weight of the entire kit. Attachments come with your purchase, as well as an on-board bag to hold them in. The narrowest attachment has a slice down the side to help prevent overheating the motor if you pass the tip over something that can't fit through the nozzle and gets stuck. Suction is great - around the house I am always impressed with how much this thing wants to catch itself on. Coming from a piece of junk, I am thrilled with this thing every time I use it. The only nitpicks I can think of: - it's bulky and fairly heavy. It's a 10-gallon model so this is part of the description - just something to be aware of if space is at a premium, or you have multiple floors to your home or shop. The handle and casters mitigate this somewhat - the cord is positioned at a weird angle. OK, I'm REALLLY reaching here, but I do find myself running over the cord with absurd frequency - doesn't come with hearing protection. It may or may not be quieter than it's competition (I stepped up in power, so I don't have a baseline to compare to), but it is a power tool that moves lots of air - it's going to be loud. Grab a cheap pair of shooting muffs and hang them on the handle or put them in the bag so you never forget to use them - in the long run, your ears will thank you

Overall a good product, but the hose...
My new Dewalt DXV10P replaces a 20 year old Shop-Vac that finally gave up the ghost. Assembly was straight forward and took maybe 10 minutes. By comparison, DXV10P has as much or more suction, and is significantly quieter. My prior vacuum had two larger wheels and one smaller caster with a taller metal tank that tended to tip over when when pulled along by the hose. The DXV10P rolls about easily and would be difficult to tip it over. The design of the DXV10P also makes stowing the hose and cord easy plus the tool caddy is handy as well. The only negative for me: The DXV10P is equipped with a 8 foot x 1 7/8" diameter hose that I think is a little too short and a bit stiff. Fortunately, my older vacuum had a great hose (same diameter, 3 feet longer, heavier duty and more supple) that I was able to retrofit to the DXV10P. However, I'm sure some or most people will be perfectly happy with the 8 foot hose. Overall, the DXV10P seems to be well built, powerful and quiet with convenient features that should serve me well.

The brand I trust
My wife spilled a large coke she purchased from a local fast food restaurant in her car. While the Weather Tech floor mat did catch most of it there was at least a quarter of the container that still got on the carpet. I had been thinking of replacing my very old Craftsman shop vac for some time so I purchased this Dewalt shop vac because I had been researching it for some time. It not only sucked up all the liquid but it left the carpet with no sticky residue at all. I am very impressed and happy that I found it at a great price. It is compact, powerful, quiet and very mobile and I didnโt have to purchase any other add on because it came with everything I needed.

Excellent Purchase for Basement w/Frequent Flood Issues
I purchased this product for my older home that has issues with occasional flooding due to a grading problem outside my home. The box arrived on time and all the parts and tools were included as advertised. I had to use it within a week of my purchase and boy were my expectations exceeded! This machine sucked up inches of water in a matter of minutes! I was able to easily empty the bucket over my drain without picking it up. The brush has a rubber lining on it that helped to trap the water in so that it could be sucked up quickly. The suction power exceeded my expectations. It is very noisy but I don't really care given the effectiveness of the cleanup. My only real issue is with one of the wheels that sometimes dislodges while you are rolling it. The wheels are easy to slide back on, but it is a pain to have to fix when it does come off. I have no other complaints with this item. If you think that you could have severe flooding due to a busted water heater or severe weather, this is the product you want in your home! I highly recommend!

it's a beast!
It's quieter than most vacuums. It has held up for a few years so far. It is definitely powerful. The attachments are sufficient but I would like to add one to shampoo my upholstery. I like it very much.

Well made and quiet
I bought this to replace a shop vac unit that just screamed. It is quieter and well made. Large rocker switch and good tool bag for the supplied hose ends on the side. Really pleased with it.

Awesome vaccum
It took over 3 months from the time I ordered it until I got it, but now that I have it I think it was worth the wait. It has more suction than any of the other shop vacuums I have had it even has a smart and efficient pouch for the attachments, nothing hanging off the side or sitting on a frame on the outside. Would definitely recommend this vaccum.
