Great option to add a zone.
I have a dual-zone Marantz that I use zone 1 for a 7.2.2 system in the living room and 2 channel thru a separate amp for the Klipsch outdoor speakers on the patio. But I had a set of Klipsch RP-600Ms sitting in a box unused and wanted to put them in the master bedroom. This easy to setup and easy to operate box gave me fundamentally AB speaker switching in zone 2. Not truly 3 zones since whatever is playing on the patio is what's playing in the bedroom. But almost all-day every-day I'm listening to the same source music in all three locations. I am a moderately discerning listener using excellent quality source from my home server and can detect no artifacts even when using both A and B speakers in zone 2.The only downside (and not unexpected of course) is that I cannot set volume levels differently on the patio and bedroom. But I figure if the manufacturer put an attenuator in the box, it would likely affect sound quality, so it was an intentional decision on my part.

Some Observations
Just remember if you are hooking up to a 5 or 7 channel surround receiver, make sure to hook switcher up to FRONT L & R receiver outputs and set the receiver speaker mode to STEREO so you will get full signal out of the two secondary speakers. Otherwise you'll only get 2/5 or 2/7 of the total sound signal when hooking up switcher to your front left and right speakers which is the only hook up that can be switched to STEREO. Then just set receiver mode back to SURROUND, etc. when done listening on patio or another room. Also keep in mind there is some signal loss on the speaker 2 side of the switch. Seems to be about 30% less than speaker 1 output side of the switch. Your results may vary. ;^]

Excellent sound switch
We have two stereo AV tuners in our house. Both have exterior speakers on zone two that are located out on our lanai (porch). Every time I wanted to switch zone two on for those receivers, I had to go read the manuals. It would take me a while to get the sound turned on outside. Sometimes I would just give up and turn the volume up loud enough to hear it outside.I finally got fed up with the controls on the receivers and bought one of these selector switches for each receiver unit. The switches were easy to install and work great. The switch buttons are large and the labeling easy to read. I can turn zone two on with one button switch now.By the way, most receiver manuals will tell you that splitting the sound signal from the front speaker zone to a second set of speakers will reduce the sound volume of the front zone and could cause power problems with the receiver. I have had none of these issues with my two receivers. They work great.

If the Switch Worked.....
The switch came defective. One channel for speaker 1 did not function. Simple construction and easy to put wire into. It is not possible to hang this on a wall, so the wires are in plain site, if that matters. I sent it back and ordered a Sigma 4 channel selector for about the same money.

Works OK but the internal wiring was incorrect (on mine anyway).
The bad news was the 2nd channel was never fully "off"; with switch 2 in the off position you could hear the left speaker. With the switch in the on position you could hear the right speaker. The good news is that the box is easy to open up and the wiring is very straightforward. After consultation with an electrical engineer in the family, we determined the black side of two of the speakers was swapped inside the box. With a wiring adjustment (swapping two of the black wires), the box works just fine. At some point I'll probably rewire the internals so the wiring matches common conventions.
