I am giving this a 3 because I was disappointed in the material used to construct the beanie. I think of a knitted beanie with soft yarn. This was more nylon. The kids both said it would be great for spring but not Utah winters unless you are indoors. The construction is good so no complaints on that topic.

After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to order these. However, I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. Before using, I had air fluffed them in the dryer and the vacuum sealing does make them look rather dingy. They are nice and stretchy. The recipient is on the larger side, and these fit perfect. For a young teen, they would probably bee on the loose side. They are lightweight but do a good job of providing warmth.
