Ubiquiti Networks G5 Turret Ultra (UVC-G5-Turret-Ultra)

I bought this to replace an aged G3 Flex. Installation was straightforward with a plethora of fixings for different ceiling types. The only point to note is that at first I over tightened the base and it deformed so the camera wouldn’t screw on. After backing the screws off a bit everything assembled easily. Adoption was easy in the Protect App. The camera then pulled some updates down for the first few minutes of its life. In use, the camera is great. Field of view is nice and wide which is great for my application. The resolution is really good too. Especially compared to my old G3 Flex. Very happy with my upgrade.

The G5 Turret is a great small camera with a clean picture. Part of the Ubiquiti ecosystem they work cleanly with Unifi Protect. The G5 is POE so you need a POE port on the switch or a POE injector. One note that you won't find anywhere, when you first plug the camera into your network, it needs to be plugged into a Ubiquiti switch or it won't be seen. This cost me more than a few minutes. Once adopted it can be connected to a non-ubiquiti switch.
