Little Blue Truck and Racer Red: A Fun Picture Book About Race Cars, Friendship, and Trying Your Best for Children (Ages 4-8)

A Top 3 Little Blue Truck Book—Instant Hit in Our House! We own the full Little Blue Truck collection, and Racer Red has immediately raced into our top 3 favorites (right alongside the original and Good Night, Little Blue). Our 2.5-year-old was hooked from the first read—the bold red race car really captures his attention, the rhythm and rhyme are spot-on as always, and the pacing of the story is just right. We read it eight times on day one alone! What really stood out to me is the message—it strikes a perfect balance between excitement and heart. The book gently encourages kids to enjoy the journey, not just focus on winning. It highlights themes like good sportsmanship, making friends, and finding joy in participation, not just competition. I’ve been a bit lukewarm on some of the seasonal books in the past, but this one? No complaints at all. It’s a fun, fresh addition with a great new character in Racer Red, and it fits seamlessly into the world of Little Blue. Highly recommend for any Little Blue Truck fan—or any toddler who loves cars and meaningful stories.

We love this series. I have a two and four year old and the whole family loves little blue truck.

I was searching online for a book that is similar to a story of tortoise and the hare but with cars being the main character instead of animals and was expecting the ending to be where the older blue car wins but to my surprise there was an unexpected twist to the ending. (Sorry, I don’t give spoilers in my reviews! XD!) Invaluable lessons to be learned through this little book!

Our granddaughter loves all the Little Blue Truck books. She asks to “read” them over and over. We send her 3-4 books each month. Her mom thinks she has the complete set now. Hopefully there are more that we will be able to get.

Adorable book for any child who loves racing! It is not a hard book to read and one our favorites to read before bed!

Another exceelent member of the Little Blue Truck series. This one teaches perspective and the ability to lose gracefully as a part of life. My grandson loves them and I love to read them to him, over and over again.

My grandson loves these Little Blue truck books. They have sweet messages along with fun imaginative story lines. The red racer being a humble winner and a graceful second place showing demonstrates kindness and taking time to appreciate each persons gifts. We like the illustrations with added little animals and insects to point out as you read. I think we have the entire series.

Such a cute series. We want all of them😭

Great book.

This series has been my grandson's number one favourite. He paid attention as a baby and is now 18 months old, still keenly interested.
