This product has some interesting design choices. It is a mask, as described in the item blurb, which is comprised of three main components: an inner cloth mask with four points that have Velcro attached, the LED mask module itself, and a cloth hood. The first interesting choice is that of a removable 23 amp, 12 volt non-standard battery. Not one I would in any way consider 'standard' for the market I live in, it is something more akin to a high power specialty battery. The second aspect of this is the manner in which the inner and outer mask are to be connected via the included Velcro patches. There are three points on the external mask that are somewhat obvious, however the fourth point on the inner mask would have the user placing the fourth Velcro patch in a spot at the chin area that would partially cover the power button and the battery port. The third design choice seems to be that the human nose was not taken into consideration on the inner space of the mask and it instead mashes the nose flat when the mask is in place. This makes it extremely uncomfortable, for me at least and I have a somewhat small nose. Finally, and this could just be me with a rather large head, the Velcro straps that meet at the back of the head to hold the inner mask in place are what I would call just barely long enough. They could stand to be 3-4cm longer for a more secure grip. As a last comment, the instructions for 'construction' or brining together of all the pieces are simple images on the side of the box, rather than an included leaflet. I had to fish the box out of the garbage to review and validate what I was doing. Further, there are no washing directions for the inner, cloth mask which will see the greatest need for cleaning as it is on the user's skin whole being worn. In all, not very good product directions, poor fit, non-standard/common battery and very uncomfortable around the nose. Do not recommend.

As a Graphic Designer and DJ by trade, it’s impossible for me not to notice photoshop retouching when it’s used to advertise products, or, in dealing with lighting, not to notice when it’s been enhanced in product videos. This is simply not the case here, as the photos are 100% identical to the actual product, and it looks even better in person. The first thing you’ll notice is the matte texture of the mask which keeps it from looking shinny, as well as its weight. Overall, the materials here are nothing short of superb. The value of everything it includes is also surprising given that it’s also at the same level of quality and craftsmanship as the mask. To offset the heavy weight, there’s an included set of Velcro pads that attach the harness for the mask. Once you put the included battery in, the Velcro pads should be put in next. The harness is made out of a very soft stretchy nylon, and it makes the whole thing feel very good on your face. They even made it a point to put loose netting around where your mouth goes so it doesn’t have to make contact with the nylon directly. My only compliant here is that the mask is very wide, and using any form of heat to make it more flexible is not recommended at all because you’d be damaging the LED lighting system it has in the process. The included hoodie is folded heavily in the package, but once you open it up and put it on, it does a decent job of hiding some of the mask’s width. It’s also nicely designed to hide your neck in your costume, with a solid build quality that’s largely wrinkle free. The only thing that’s not the same as the photos is the width of the hoodie. It’s slightly tight on the sides when the mask is on. Again, it’s not much of a problem at all though, when you factor in the amount of value it adds to the product. While Mortal Combat, which is always spelled with a K intentionally, used Motocross and Airsoft masks as inspiration for Scorpion’s mask in Mortal Combat 2, it’s clear that this mask definitely draws its influences from Mortal Combat 2 as well. It’s essentially Scorpion’s mask, but in a solid black matte color. Painting it with a worn shade of yellow brings this out even more, as does the hoodie, which became a part of Scorpion’s costume design in Mortal Combat 10, as well as the 2021 film reboot. The last thing to note here is the stunning LED lighting on the mask. The on and off button basically sits flush on the chin area of the mask, so it’s easy to use. Once it’s on, that’s when the mask really stands out. They managed to place the lighting around the edges of the mask vents so there’s a darker orange tone on the inside, and a vibrant yellow around the edges. If you’re using this for a Scorpion costume, this gives it the look of of an internal fire which is very well done. The material covering the LED lit vents is also a clear, textured matte surface which basically diffuses the LED lighting to keep it from looking too bright in photos, though it’s just bright enough to stand out in a dark room. This is easily a 5 star product in every category, especially considering the fact that there simply isn’t any other mask in this price point that’s built to the same quality standards, or, that comes with a well stitched, wrinkle free hoodie, a comfortable material that won’t dig into your face, and top tier LED lightning. If you want that classic Mortal Combat 2 Scorpion look, the mask already has a matte finish, so applying the right paint will make it look perfect.

I bought this for a costume at an expo in my local city, and I got a ton of compliments on it. With the lights on, or off, it looks great. The LED lights inside really add to the whole effect though. It did get a bit warm, but honestly, any mask does when you wear it, so I can't fault this one for it! It's comfortable enough to wear, coming with a nice velcro cloth to cover the hard plastic, so the cloth is what touches your face. Definitely grab this if you're looking to push your costume to the next level.

So creepy and soooo cool. The perfect combination for my husbands Star Wars themed costume. The lights are awesome and it’s pretty comfy to wear for awhile. Great clean design and worth the price.

Works really well, looks super cool, but I think it's too big for me. Instead of the straps holding it nicely to my head, the mask weighs heavily on my nose and it's very uncomfortable to wear. I will likely need to add padding to make it bearable. So if you have a larger head, this may not be an issue. Out of the box, the straps and hood STINK. Very very strong chemical odor. I'm hoping a soak/wash will help. Wish I'd realized the smell was THIS bad before I attached the velcro. The velcro system is easy to attach, but it's not a great solution. It's held on with adhesive so washing the pieces may degrade that over time. Be sure to wash them BEFORE assembling.
