Men's Promaster Dive Eco-Drive Watch, 3-Hand Date, Polyurethane Strap, ISO Certified, Anti-Reflective Curved Crystal, Screw-Back Case and Crown

i've wanted one of these for a long time, and it may have satisfied my need for any more watches. admittedly, i've already purchased some 50 amazing dive watches, so that's part of the reason, but this is such a satisfying 'hockey puck' (as it's called) for someone in love with giant legit dive watches, that it may be all i've ever needed. and if that's your thing, maybe you too. as a review, we already know it's huge, however because of there being no lugs, it wears shockingly well for such a huge watch (i'm a 7" wrist). while heavy and 18mm thick, it balances and sits quite well, if that's a concern. as for everything else, it's all good (as they say). no bezel alignment issues with this or any Citizen as with one other infamous Japanese powerhouse brand. in fact everything is superbly and accurately built and put together. the lume is stunning and equal to first class anywhere. the bezel is what diver nuts dream about: locked in, no backplay, perfectly aligned. that strap is a stiff one, like none other. but since this is foremost a world class diver, the strap qualifies as that and will after a half-dozen wearings conform to your wrist as if molded. personally i love the slight dome on the crystal, and in true diver fashion it is mineral glass to prevent shattering for use as a pro-diver. the bezel is one of the most enjoyable to dial, and even the 60 clicks are a joy...who needs 120. the only issue i should mention is one common to all quartz: the secs hand hitting the markers right on. after fully charged i've found it does one of the better quartz movement jobs of nailing markers...this one hitting right on virtually 100% of the time after a day of being charged (was hitting a little off, but after more of a charge it's amazing). Citizen is one of the best in this dept, tho i did need to return one of these (the yellow strap) a year ago over that issue. thankfully that wasn't the case here as i fell in love with this out the box. speaking of which, given that this was first offered in 2013, it's truly 'vintage'. not sure when this one was made, but it barely had a charge from being in the box. once sunlight hit it, it have a 2sec/2single sec movement, which means it had totally lost it's charge. after research i found when that happens, to charge it with the crown fully out for at least a minute, then if wanted you can keep charging with it in. that tells the watch to reset, and it will begin going in the normal undercharged 2sec intervals. at that point it was so low it took 10 hours under a fluorescent light to get to one sec intervals, and another few hours as well to hit the markers spot on. i've found that with solar watches, if they're low charged, even if not 2sec intervaling, they tend to be slightly less accurate on the markers (clearly an issue with me). Citizens are scads better at quartz/marker accuracy than that other Japanese maker, but the only quartz watches i've found to literally nail the markers with the sec hand are very high end: the $600 Citizen satellite controlled solar diver and the $1800 ($2700 retail) solar diver...both of which i have. do note, i love this $325 Citizen every bit as much as those, and it indeed has just as much wrist presence or more.

Best watch all around, accurate to the minute and seconds I have had charged it since the first day and it’s been running without any issues, I have read some reviews with negative comments; minute hand movement, not lining up with the hour hands, I found none of those things in such great watch. Adapters for military strap order from EBay best quality the strap is 24 mm and the best is available in Amazon. Original strap is beautiful and comfortable no problem should last you a long time just clean with water and soft soap and toothbrush to remove dirt and dead skin every so often.

The "Ecozilla" (as this model of Citizen watch is informally called) is a big burly beast. The steel case has a 48mm diameter and 19mm height, with a 29mm band width: truly monstrous dimensions. But it's not too heavy given the size and thickness of the case/crystal, so your arm won't drag or leave you complaining too much about the mass (at least in my opinion -- this is subjective of course). The mineral crystal is clear with no significant distortion, but with a thickness of 6mm it's more bulletproof than probably any other watch you own. The unidirectional 60-click bezel is situated entirely within the diameter of the case, so to turn it you must press down from the top rather than grab it by the edge -- a bonus because you're much less likely to move the bezel by accident. The markers, chapter ring and bezel are perfectly aligned, unlike most of the new Seiko divers which have notorious alignment problems (just google "Seiko misalignment" and you'll see what I mean). Citizen's high torque Japanese-made B873 quartz movement oscillates at 32,768Hz and is solar powered with a six-month power reserve when fully charged, and two warning functions, the first indicating low power that doesn't affect timekeeping, and the second indicating low power that does affect time-keeping. Second hand alignment is about 95% perfect around the dial, but literally every Ecozilla I've seen has a few dial positions where the second hand slightly retrogrades off alignment before advancing to the next pip on the chapter ring. This appears to be a consequence of the high torque and very robust movement design, and is not due to loose hands, damage or poor quality control. After all, this watch is rated for saturation diving in a helium-rich environment up to 300m, or almost 1/6 of a mile below the surface of the ocean. Accuracy is rated at +/- 15 seconds/month at 41°-95°F, with an operational temperature range of 14°-140°F, but mine runs only about 3 seconds fast per month. The lume on all three hands, plus the hour markers and bezel 0 index is good -- not as bright as a Seiko but sufficient for diving. The florescent-outlined minute hand is especially highly visible. My only complaint is the common one with many watches these days that don't have a "cyclops" magnifier bubble over the date window: "the date display is too small," which is fairly trivial as it just takes an extra second or two to focus your eyes and read it. With this baby on your wrist you won't have to worry about your watch failing for just about any reason -- it really is the Ecozilla, a solar-powered marine monster dominating all comers! Best of all is when it's on sale for under $200 new. Highly recommended!

UPDATE: Wearing the watch daily for 1 year 8 months now. Still like it as much as the day I bought it. Absolutely no complaints at all about the watch, I see this being my favorite for years to come. As for the wristband I never replaced it, it is far from uncomfortable and I have seen no reason for replacement. I have had this watch for a week now and I still like it as much as the day it arrived. I'll try to update the review after I have a little more time with the watch. Before buying the watch I stopped by the local mall to see if they had this watch available in a watch store. The store carried the watch but it was more expensive then Amazon even though it was on sale in the store, the owner would not even match Amazons price. I was however able to see the watch first hand before buying it from Amazon. Honestly I was a little concerned about the size of the watch at first; I mean this thing is a monster and could probably be used as a weapon in an emergency situation. With that being said, I absolutely love this watch. I have always been a large dive watch fan and this is by far the best watch I have ever owned. I like the looks, the size, and the weight. I don't think the watch is overly heavy however there is no getting around the fact that this is a large watch - which I like. The luminous hands stay bright enough to read for quite some time. I could read them after the watch had been stored in my locker at work for 8 hrs. I would not go so far as to say that the watch band is uncomfortable, however it is stiff and I will be looking at purchasing a pair of the 'Suppa' adapters ([...]) for the watch as soon as they become available again so I can try another band. This is probably my only gripe, that I need to purchase a ~$70 pair of adapters to be able to change watch bands (the craftsmanship of the adapters does look top notch however). I am thinking about a 24mm Orange Zulu 3 Ring Military Watch Band Strap [...] once I have purchased the adapters. If you like large dive watches then this is the watch for you. I watched a YouTube viedo on the top 10 dive watches under $300 and the Eco-Zilla came in 2nd place. I have no regrets and would recommend the watch to a friend.

First, what could be better. Not much really. The watch is large, heavy, and has a very stiff rubber strap that make it pretty uncomfortable for everyday wear--at least for me. I'd also prefer that the crystal have a bubble window over the date to magnify it--really not the watch's fault, just my old eyes. That's it. None of these things really matter to me because I bought this watch to dive with. I don't need to see the date on a dive, it doesn't weigh squat underwater, and I cannot feel the strap over a drysuit. Now the good things--and there are a lot of them. This watch was designed for diving--not wearing by people who want to look like they dive, but real divers. It has all of the classic features that make for a great dive water. 1. It has a big, well defined, high-contrast face that make it easy to read at a glance. The minute hand is given a red/orange color so that there is no chance of confusing which hand is which. 2. It has a strap extender that not only fits over any wetsuit you might want to use, it will fit over my drysuit with 200g undergarment. 3. It's water resistant to 1,000 feet. Considering that O2 becomes toxic in normal air at a bit over 200 feet, this watch has your depth covered. 4. The rotating bezel locks down tight enough to make accidental movement unlikely and as usual, only rotates to the left. Some people have complained that it only has 60 clicks instead of 120 for a full circle, but you only need to be able to accurately stop it on a minute. There is absolutely no reason to need more than a single click for each minute--at least if you're really using it for diving. Bottom line: if you're looking for a dive watch to actually take underwater, here is a watch that's really made with that in mind.

Having been an owner of a Citizen Promaster Aqualand II dive watch for the past two decades... I just picked up a Eco Zilla as an eventual replacement/back-up as I was having my Aqualand II serviced for a battery replacement, gasket change and pressure test. I initially had spotted the Eco Zilla a couple of years ago on a cruise in the Caribbean, and was impressed on the overall look of it. After reading the outstanding reviews and seeing an offer on Amazon that was hard to pass up on, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a purchase. All I can say, is that this dive watch is a literal "no brainer"... if you are looking for something that just does the basic and keeps time without the bells & whistles of a depth gauge and/or alarm, then this is the dive watch for you. Mind you, this watch is not for everyone as it may not look too good on some gents... as an example, I am 5'11" weighing 220lbs with average 8inch wrists, and as such this watch works for me. The Eco Zilla has a no nonsense rugged and substantially solid built look, which literally implores you to man-up ! and begs the question whether one truly has the urge to submerge... Thank you Citizen for coming up with this relatively new series of dive watches and looking forward to many years of diving with it, along with my Aqualand II which is 18 years old and going strong with over 500 logged dives... meanwhile I need to have my Testoserone levels checked as I am quite certain they may have been boosted upwards from wearing this watch !... :) UPDATE: Since the above review I have gone ahead and taken the Eco-Zilla, to half a dozen deep wreck dives in the Florida Keys this past summer, and this watch rocked !!! definitely a great addition to my dive gear and watch collection. When I put this watch on with casual wear either pre or post diving, it gives notice to others as to what my favorite pastime is... but to be honest, I prefer to treat it as a piece of dive gear and to wear it primarily for dive purposes.

Big and bulky, but that's the style. I think people know what to expect. Citizen is a great name for a reason: they make quality timepieces. Bought this on sale and no regrets.

This watch is not for the faint hearted. Initially all will be worried with jerked seconds movement as we are excited for the watch start. But give it a good few hours of direct sun and allow it to run. When you wear the watch, you are different from the rest. This is a BEAST (all in good sense) Weather you are a diver or no, it absolutely must have for the FGF (feel good factor) Came as a surprise in a awesome box Plus additional divers wrist band. Night glow is brilliant. If there is a better deal, I will for sure go for 2nd piece

Parto dalla parte negativa: mi è stato consegnato in una semplicissima scatoletta di cartone, poi è fermo, quindi va messo sotto una luce potente ,prima inizia a scattare ogni due secondi e poi va a regime. Mi aspettavo il quadrante più grande che invece è un po' piccolino soprattutto per uno che non vede niente come me. E ora il resto, possiedo una trentina di orologi da Omega a Rolex a quelli giganteschi dell'invicta visto che mi piacciono i patacconi, ma questo lo fa sparire tutti., Come dicevo non è così grande ma allo stesso tempo dà un'idea di forza e resistenza che ho mai visto in un orologio , mi viene voglia di toccarlo continuamente ,sembra lo scafandro di un palombaro, una piccola opera d'arte.il cinghino È particolarmente rigido ma fa coppia con l'orologio che ripeto non vedo l'ora al mattino di indossarlo. È talmente pazzesco che anche mentre lavoro continuo a guardarlo e fissarlo , una vera e propria opera d'arte con una capacità costruttiva che lo rende forse il miglior orologio subacqueo al mondo. Non so come si potrà cambiare il cinghino perché esso sembra scomparire nell'orologio, ma ne preoccuperò se e quando succederà. Chiudo: il più orologio che abbia mai visto
