THE ULTiMATE iN CLASSiC BiG HONKiN ULTRA COOL DiVERS: THE HOCKEY PUCK
i've wanted one of these for a long time, and it may have satisfied my need for any more watches. admittedly, i've already purchased some 50 amazing dive watches, so that's part of the reason, but this is such a satisfying 'hockey puck' (as it's called) for someone in love with giant legit dive watches, that it may be all i've ever needed. and if that's your thing, maybe you too. as a review, we already know it's huge, however because of there being no lugs, it wears shockingly well for such a huge watch (i'm a 7" wrist). while heavy and 18mm thick, it balances and sits quite well, if that's a concern. as for everything else, it's all good (as they say). no bezel alignment issues with this or any Citizen as with one other infamous Japanese powerhouse brand. in fact everything is superbly and accurately built and put together. the lume is stunning and equal to first class anywhere. the bezel is what diver nuts dream about: locked in, no backplay, perfectly aligned. that strap is a stiff one, like none other. but since this is foremost a world class diver, the strap qualifies as that and will after a half-dozen wearings conform to your wrist as if molded. personally i love the slight dome on the crystal, and in true diver fashion it is mineral glass to prevent shattering for use as a pro-diver. the bezel is one of the most enjoyable to dial, and even the 60 clicks are a joy...who needs 120. the only issue i should mention is one common to all quartz: the secs hand hitting the markers right on. after fully charged i've found it does one of the better quartz movement jobs of nailing markers...this one hitting right on virtually 100% of the time after a day of being charged (was hitting a little off, but after more of a charge it's amazing). Citizen is one of the best in this dept, tho i did need to return one of these (the yellow strap) a year ago over that issue. thankfully that wasn't the case here as i fell in love with this out the box. speaking of which, given that this was first offered in 2013, it's truly 'vintage'. not sure when this one was made, but it barely had a charge from being in the box. once sunlight hit it, it have a 2sec/2single sec movement, which means it had totally lost it's charge. after research i found when that happens, to charge it with the crown fully out for at least a minute, then if wanted you can keep charging with it in. that tells the watch to reset, and it will begin going in the normal undercharged 2sec intervals. at that point it was so low it took 10 hours under a fluorescent light to get to one sec intervals, and another few hours as well to hit the markers spot on. i've found that with solar watches, if they're low charged, even if not 2sec intervaling, they tend to be slightly less accurate on the markers (clearly an issue with me). Citizens are scads better at quartz/marker accuracy than that other Japanese maker, but the only quartz watches i've found to literally nail the markers with the sec hand are very high end: the $600 Citizen satellite controlled solar diver and the $1800 ($2700 retail) solar diver...both of which i have. do note, i love this $325 Citizen every bit as much as those, and it indeed has just as much wrist presence or more.

Accurate and toughness
Best watch all around, accurate to the minute and seconds I have had charged it since the first day and it’s been running without any issues, I have read some reviews with negative comments; minute hand movement, not lining up with the hour hands, I found none of those things in such great watch. Adapters for military strap order from EBay best quality the strap is 24 mm and the best is available in Amazon. Original strap is beautiful and comfortable no problem should last you a long time just clean with water and soft soap and toothbrush to remove dirt and dead skin every so often.

Big and Beautiful
It's big but not cumbersome to wear. The stock green rubber band is alright however, I ordered and installed the Suppa-parts DLC bracelet and adapter set after nreadimg so many recommendations from others. It is a nice improvement and goes nicely with the green and black colors of the watch.

nothing better for the price
The "Eco Zilla arrived on time and in perfect condition. Upon opening and unpacking your impressed by the quality without even picking up the watch. As stated by many others this is not your" fathers Citizen" by any means , but once you get used to the size you find it wears much easier than one would think by looking at it . The build quality is excellent and without fault. The band is stiff but you would not want a flimsy band for this watch and the stainless steel buckle also has a high polish and finish to it. If you take care of this watch your kids kids will have it to enjoy. You must excercize care in screwing down the crown as its stiff to press in and screw but you get used to this you wont cross thread it. While the titanium one is lighter I dont think the cost difference makes it that much better , and besides stainless steel is very good looking and much more scratch resistant. I dont scuba dive but then many buyers dont dive either and really watches are much like any other accessory, its a matter of choice. As watch sizes go there are bigger watches than this but for me this is about as big as I would go. The watch keeps perfect time and you will find it a joy to own as Eco drive watches take the hassle out of battery changing chores and they last a long long time. I have many eco drives and one is at least ten years old and going strong and the case has never been opened. I know the seals are supposed to be checked and replaced every two years , but unless you dive with it , I dont do this. All in all as a gift for your husband or boy friend or any guy that likes watches you wont go wrong with this watch.

A total beast!
What a beast of a watch! This watch has been on my radar for a few years now; so when my Seiko Monster went missing this was one of the top choices for a replacement.Citizen's sale price plus Amazon knocking off another 10% discount, I did not hesitate to buy it and glad that I did.The watch is very well constructed and a solid tool. With the Eco Drive movement I don't need to worry about watch winders or battery replacement as it's battery recharges on various types of light sources. Citizen also provides a nice 5 year warranty on it.It's a big watch so it's not for everyone. The only con that I can really list is that the watchband cannot be changed without buying custom adapters so no steel bracelet or other options unless you willing to go the custom route. However, the watchband and extension that this watch comes with is very beefy and also well made. It provides a nice counterbalance to the heavy watch case.Well worth the money.** Update: I have since added the Suppa adapters and a stainless steel bracelet made a great watch even better! After owning it a couple month, my watch has settled and keeps excellent time compared to my atomic timekeeping watch which gets regular updates every day.

Big and bulky. Not for all but fine for me.
First and foremost this thing is huge! What else would you expect from a watch with a nickname like Ecozilla. If you have small wrist you may not like the fit. It's definitely a tool, low cost watch that is meant to be used and abused. I don't dive... barely swim, but own mostly dive watches due to the sporty looking nature of them and for the most part the robust build quality they have. This watch has that business look to it. It screams for you to put on a wet suit and go shark hunting with nothing but a knife, all by yourself in a tiny boat. It's manly and brave. G-shock sized. As for functionality it's a watch with a date window and a unidirectional bezel. It's perfectly legible and has good lume. As many others here have stated the second hand doesn't quite tick on the markers but it's easy to overlook especially if you bought it during the Black Friday sales for under 150 bucks. I own at least four other Eco-Drive model watches. All still working fine, all over 15 years old and haven't serviced any of them yet. Then again most quartz watches don't require as much service as automatic watches. With all that said, if you like the look of it and the size, give it try. If you don't like the rubber straps that come on the watch get some lug adapters (which I do plan on getting) and enjoy what is destined to be one of citizens future classics.

Ecozilla, big heavy and incredibly well made.
I also bought a Rotary watch for similar money, both this and the Rotary are Dive watches, but this is far superior in terms of build quality and luminescents. It is a big watch, well huge, so not a dress watch as it's thick and heavy and the strap is very stiff, but it's actually very comfortable to wear (and I don't have big wrists). This watch is a bit of a collector's piece, as well as a fantastic watch to wear, and at circa £230, it's a really good price. It came well packaged in a scuba tank "box" and it is a watch you'll love to own.

THE BEST ECOZILLA BEAST YOU CAN HAVE ON YOUR WRIST
This watch is not for the faint hearted.Initially all will be worried with jerked seconds movement as we are excited for the watch start. But give it a good few hours of direct sun and allow it to run. When you wear the watch, you are different from the rest. This is a BEAST (all in good sense)Weather you are a diver or no, it absolutely must have for the FGF (feel good factor)Came as a surprise in a awesome boxPlus additional divers wrist band.Night glow is brilliant. If there is a better deal, I will for sure go for 2nd piece
