You get what you pay for.If you’re on a budget then this isn’t too bad of a mount, but I’d go with something of a little more quality as a first choice. The dash kit does align and the wire harness fits. However, the screws that secure the side tabs to the dash kit has very small heads and wants to push the tabs out of position. If the radio is already sitting in place it’s not too bad, but still not a good design. Also, the front trim that goes around the radio uses a large rubber band around it to create friction. Then you have to wedge the rubber band and trim between the dash kit. I’ve never seen anything like it. Technically it holds in place but is a very poor design.Since it holds up and ultimately is secure I’ll give it 4 stars but it loses a star for ingenuity.One last thing to note - these Volkswagens have a funny design when it comes to their electronics. This is the second one I’ve seen where the aftermarket radio stays on the entire time. Idk if there is a harness out there that rectifies this issue, but this one definitely doesn’t. If you use this harness, you’ll have to tap into either the fuse panel or a wire that only powers on with the ignition for your ignition wire (red). Just a heads up

Product was unable to be assembled as instructions stated. Seems to be defective in the way it is made. I ended up buying a different brand and that one worked great.

Worked great for mk5 vw gti but just a tip you have to wire the 12v source wire into the cigarette lighter or fuse box for it to turn off the radio

Installed in a 2014 B7 CPKA 1.8l gas VW Passat. This is a must-have for a double-din head unit install on these cars. For the next guy--you will need to tap an accessory wire to make your aftermarket head unit turn off (I ran a wire to the fuse box on the left driver dash and used add-a-fuse) as well as a headlight wire to make the unit dim (I ran wire to the headlight switch and tapped the purple wire that drives the "AUTO" backlight. These are CANBUS cars that don't send regular 12V to the clock, HVAC, or cigarette lighter for backlight.This kit has two of the four wire harnesses to mate to the aftermarket unit. I am sure the other two in the car are for steering wheel controls and OEM phone control, which I have lost. It's to be expected for a cheap aftermarket head unit. Getting Car Play is a worthy trade!

Wiring is not accurate. Was purchased with a radio for a Christmas present but wasn’t attempted to install until this month and wiring is not functioning correctly

Bought for my 2008 vw Jetta and set it up 1-1 to the instructions but radio is on all the time and never powers down, will kill the battery and leave me stranded

I used this product for my VW Passat 2006, and the panel fit fairly nicely. However, the harness is not the correct one. The head unit continues to drain the battery even when the car is not on.I ended up replacing the battery ($250+) and now, I am looking for a solution that actually resolves this issue.I would avoid this product with the current harnessing parts.
