Great tablet - just remember to take off the plastic cover!
A word of warning - take the plastic cover off the front of the device before you switch it on. I left mine on in case it did not work and guess what, when I tried to switch it on, nothing. So I spoke to the technical dept and ended up sending it back. The replacement arrived in good time and the same thing happened. Then, by chance, I hit the volume button and heard a ping. Well, I thought, if its making a noise it must be working so I took the plastic cover off. It was only then that I realised that the plastic cover was black which meant that I had not seen the screen come to life and thought it was not working - doh! Otherwise, all good. Pretty much the same as my 7 inch Galaxy so no surprises. Very pleased with it.

Great purchase
As this was my first purchase of any type of tablet, I was a little bit reluctant to proceed, but having read up about them and finally decided to take the plunge I went for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. Delivery was prompt, having ordered it over the weekend I received it the following Thursday and was up and running within 5 minutes. Even though the instruction guide that came with the tablet was not in english this was easily solved by getting on to the Samsung web site and down loading the english instruction manual. From them on it was just a matter of finding your way around the multitude of things this amazing machine can do. The picture quality when viewing TV programes is better in my opinion than some I've seen on actual TV sets. I can honestly say that Iam very impressed with this purchase and hope it will provide me with many years of trust worthy service. If you are thinking of purchasing a tablet for yourself look no further than tne Samsung, I can highly recommend it, what more can I say.

Using the tab to do this review. Bought this to use around the house in conjunction with a wi fi system and its great. Still use the laptop for certain things but overall use this most of the time. Nice big screen and the keyboard is easy to use as its also that much bigger. The apps are good and being older its possable to watch i player and u tube ect without straining the old eyes too much. Really pleased.

Excellent value 10" tablet
Purchased for my mother who is 91! It's been customised to an extent to make a very simple intro page with only 5 functions. Let's hope it works! The tablet itself is one up from my Tab 2 and an improvement on an already impressive piece of equipment. Scrolling is smooth, the touch is responsive. Excellent value for money.

A viable option if your expectations aren't too high, but beware of irritating screen freezes!
I have now had this device for 9 months, which I believe qualifies me to pen (or tap out) this review. I'm not going to delve into all of the technical specifications nor use any form of gobbledegook to express how I feel. Obviously, and in today's climate of ever-changing technology an awful lot can happen in 9 months, and with newer versions of this device now readily available maybe its best days are perhaps long behind it. Ever since tablets first made their appearance into the land of technology I cherished the idea of owning one. I had yearned for something to fill the gap between bulky laptops and small fiddly smartphones, and when I left my job last May I went on a big tech spending spree, including the Galaxy Tab 3. Days after buying it from Amazon I took it with me on a short break to the Lake District, where it performed admirably using the free wifi from the local bars and restaurants, and proved both an invaluable travelling companion and tool in researching the local sightseeing beauty spots. Since then, and as time passed me by, I have been using it extensively for a variety of reasons, anything from listening to music on Spotify, viewing videos on Youtube and searching out local tradesmen to do work on my house. It has handled everything that I have thrown at it and remains a part of my arsenal of gadgetry. So why the 3 star rating? Well, over the past few months especially I have noticed the rather irritating tendency of the device to freeze and then reboot itself whilst I was in the middle of reading something, and as I do a lot of reading it is something that continues to irritate me to this day. I'm not certain if it is just my particular device or if it applies to all Galaxy Tab 3 devices, but this fault (because it is a fault in my eyes) has proved to be the catalyst of the love/hate relationship which I now have with my own device. If you don't want to or can't afford to fork out for the very latest all-singing all-dancing tablet and require something for basic browsing and the occasional bit of music and video then the Galaxy Tab 3 is a viable option. Battery life? Without referring to the countless other reviews I can only comment on my own personal experience of this particular aspect of the device. It goes without saying that heavy/intensive use will drain the battery rather quickly, but I have found that with light/moderate use I can easily get a couple of days usage out of it. In conclusion, if you're looking for something which performs like a Formula One racing car with all the latest bells and whistles attached then you are best advised to look somewhere else, but if you want a steady workhorse that does the basics then the Galaxy Tab 3 should be viewed as a viable candidate. I only hope that if, you do decide to go for the GT3, that your experience of it is a little less irritating than my own!

A good Tab but for a novice with Apps could do with guidance, then would be excellent!
I love it, but as a lady who is not used to 'apps' I am on a steep learning curve. In some instances I have found I am not alone and forums of people are having the same problem. It would be good if there were more explicit commands eg when drop box says can not open downloads it needs an app to do so, it could tell us which app. I spent a long time trying to upload pictures, which is my main purpose for the Tab, to use for art. I still don't know how to create files, but I will get there!Very good quality pictures and sound.I have learned apps conflict with each other not to download too many of the same type.Ideally need a teenager at home with patience to teach me!

Great Bit Of Kit !
I had an entry level 7 inch low cost tablet and wondered if upgrading to the Samsung 10.1 inch would be worth it. I can say it is completely different class. Miles faster, easier to use as the bigger screen makes all the difference - and packed with useful features I didn't have before. So glad I bought this. It even becomes a morning paper and crossword solver at breakfast time - brilliant.
