Are the sizes of the countries and continents accurate to scale?

Very easy to use and read considering the amount of detail. I haven’t scaled them, however, they are really very nice productions especially for the price.

Can you write on these?

I have not written on mine, but due to their lamination, I think you can write on them as long as you don't use permanent marker.

Does USA map show major roads with labels that you can read?

Yes. Both sides of the USA map show major roads, but one side much more clearly than the other. Small cities are clearly labeled on that map with minor roads shown, but not named or numbered. I recommend these maps as first quality with excellent laminating that are surprisingly inexpensive compared to some other companies in my opinion.
