"vg10 damascus steel"? not possible. vg10 is not a damascus steel. so which is it? vg10 or damascus?

Vg10 is the core and the Damascus technique is used with the cobalt and Nickle for the layers... vg10 steel is a common core with Damascus knives.

is this real damascus steel?

I think so, it was a gift for my father in law he loves it.

Is this spring assisted?

No. It is not. Doesn't seem to be true Damascus either. It is still neat.

How sturdy is the belt clip?

I’ve been carrying my Albatross knife by the belt clip for about 9 months now, including when riding my motorcycle. I’ve had no issues and I don’t have any worries about losing it. But I would recommend checking that the screws are tight now and then. Otherwise the clip is quite sturdy.
