Barfly 1 x 2 oz. Diamond Lattice Etch Japanese Style Jigger, Stainless Steel

We have about 6 or so different Jiggers we use in out home bar and the barfly stuff is really our favorites. We use the OXO unit for juicing because the wider mouth, but for the Japanese style jiggers we have, barfly hands down makes the best units we own. This specific jigger is slightly taller than the others we have, by maybe a mm or two. My girlfriend thinks it's beautiful and the markings are easy to read. The texture is nice and it has an elegant appearance. 5 stars from us here at the 1915!

The print and color are gorgeous, better than shown in pictures. Sturdy, semetrical, smooth. No funny smells. Rinses clean. Aestheticly pleasing.

I’ve been a bartender for a long time and have worked with many different jiggers. I purchased this one for my house and very glad I did. It’s very decorative and sturdy and is perfect for measuring the alcohol I’m putting in my guests cocktails!

I have recently looked at and compared many jiiggers side by side. I have concluded that this particular one is missing a very important one oz marking on the larger side. While one whould say the one oz marking is not necessary because you would just fill the smaller side to the brim, the problem is you will always be feeling to the brim of the smaller side whenever you want one oz. 1 oz is a very common measure in many recipes, in order not to spill, it is advisable to fill the one oz in the larger measurement side halfway. But that will require a 1 oz marking in the larger side. This is not necessarily an explicit defect, but it is a significant oversight that render the trigger less useful than other brands. The thing is at home we usually fill measurements tools with some room at the top in order not to spill. In an actual bar, this is usually not the case. Spill or splash at you the bar is common practice and it doesn't impact the business or the customer much. But at home, we like things neat and not spilling. Besides, it makes it hard to sit the jigger down on the counter and fill to the brim and try not to spill it when picking it up again. The way we pour at home is quite differently than at a bar, too. As for the Aesthetics of this device, this is a gorgeous looking very beautiful jigger. It is one of the prettier one on the market. It is such a shame that it is missing the one onze marking on the inside of the larger side. Otherwise it would have been perfect. There is no issue cleaning this jigger. I would hand wash this anyway. I will not put this in the dishwasher. Since I'm not expecting dishwashing, this is not an issue in terms of cleaning. In terms of readability of the measurement marks, the marking is actually on the lighter side compared to other brands. It is still readable, but one of the other ones I tried had a very weak printing on the inside where the one and one oz marking read like a half ounce. That was a small defect. The markings are still usable, but just a little bit on the lighter side. The item feels solid, well constructed, heavyweight, and I would assume good quality stainless steel. Time will be required to tell as it will take some time to see if steel will rust or not. I'm not able to test long term. I have to return mine because as much as I would like to keep it the lacking of the 1 oz marking is rendering this jigger less effective than others. I'll take a picture of how they look in actual room lighting. It is important to have a look of the item in actual everyday room lighting instead of polished pretty advertisement photos on the website because the actual appearance may be quite different IRL.
