Best shoe for daily walks, fits well. I wear size UK8 in barefoot shoes but Amazon recommended me UK9 in this shoe which fitted perfectly fine. Very good quality with moderate cushioning needed for daily city walks.

The shoe's lightweight design adds to its versatility.Durability:After several weeks of use, the Escalante 4 has shown minimal signs of wear. The outsole provides adequate grip, and the overall construction feels sturdy. I ordered size 6 and it’s perfect. The back is quite low than usual and felt narrow so took me a while to get used to the fit especially around the back and the shape (visual) and now I love it after I found the right type of socks to wear with it. It’s very lightweight and so comfortable to wear all day. Plenty of room to wiggle my toes and doesn’t cause pressure or pain on my base of the big toe joint after hours of wearing this. No redness at all. I have a developing bony bump from wearing narrow shoes and I want to stop it progressing to a severe bunion and looking for shoes that I can wear comfortably. I would love to see how the other style feels as well. I am looking for trainers to wear not only for exercise but also for day to day use.

I own another pair of Altra's but wanted a pair for just casual wear and these fit the bill perfectly.I do however have two gripes, one being the laces which are a tad short but I remedid that by buying some laces.Gripe two, the running shoes are not black; more dark grey or charcoal. That doesn't matter too much to me but might to others who need a true black running shoes.All in all the shoe for me does exactly what it says on the tin and fits my brief perfectly but I give 4 stars because of the two gripes........hopefully Altra can sort them out in the future.

Not only a brilliant fit and absolutely excellent quality, but these are the most comfortable gym trainers I’ve ever had. I really really recommend you run. Don’t walk to get a pair of these. The sizing is absolutely perfect and a really good range at £125. It is still a good reasonable price compared to others out there. I’m absolutely blown away. They hold perfectly don’t slip while wearing so you can run your heart content without any issues fastened they don’t seem to slide undone while working out which is brilliant. I’m not too keen on the colour but it was the only one available. It is quite a dull shade of purple but the feel and fit have completely run me over. I would definitely purchase more from this brand after how amazing these absolutely 10 out of 10 best workout trainers I’ve ever had I highly recommend

These shoes are both comfortable and light, making them ideal for running. I ordered a size 7, and it fits perfectly. I appreciate the wider toe box compared to other brands. Overall, the quality is excellent.

I have worn these trainers all day long, and they are so incredibly comfortable that earlier I forgot I was wearing them and thought that I had changed into my slippers!! initially they look a little strange with the foot fit design, but I have got used to the style now and quite like the look of them. I actually have an ingrowing toenail and the fact that my foot can ‘spread’ within the shoe means that I have had a pain free day. The trainer is finished to a high standard, with a soft breathable material and a thick rubber sole. The trainer feels solid and secure yet very lightweight, and I am happy with the quality and fit. I would say they are true to size.

Not to size bigger than my normal size 10 but would have been too small to go down 1/2 size.Having worn zero drops from companies like Vivo barefoot, Xero and freet, I expected these to be about the same but with a bit more comfort……..The heal felt like it was softer than it needed to be and seemed to be lower than the forefoot. Even though I used a runners lace lock using the very top row holes I still had a lot of lift in the heel when walking, so returnedQuality seemed good but too wide in the heel

Really bad shoe. Terrible quality, barely lasted a month of walking 6-7k steps daily. Suffers from tongue drift, poor sole durability, cheap material quality and although the EGO foam is very comfortable it starts to sink after a few weeks of light/medium use. Do not buy.

Ich trage den Altra Escalante 4 nicht zum Laufen, sondern ganz bewusst im Alltag und bei längeren Spaziergängen – und ich bin absolut begeistert.Ich habe seit Jahren das Problem, dass mir bei fast allen Schuhmarken nach einiger Zeit, spätestens nach etwa einer Stunde Gehen, am linken Fuß die Zehen stark weh tun. Die Schmerzen werden so unangenehm, dass ich die Schuhe ausziehen muss.Mit den Altra-Schuhen habe ich dieses Problem zum ersten Mal überhaupt nicht. Auch nach langen Spaziergängen bleiben meine Zehen schmerzfrei. Die breite Zehenbox macht hier wirklich den entscheidenden Unterschied – der Fuß hat Platz, nichts drückt oder engt ein.Der Escalante 4 ist dabei extrem bequem, leicht und angenehm zu tragen. Er fühlt sich natürlich an, ist gut verarbeitet und eignet sich perfekt für den täglichen Gebrauch.Fazit: Ich schwöre auf Altra-Schuhe. Wer ähnliche Probleme mit Zehenschmerzen hat und einen bequemen, alltagstauglichen Schuh sucht, sollte Altra unbedingt ausprobieren. Für mich kommt aktuell nichts anderes mehr infrage.
